I need to remove the instrument cluster from my 2002 Ranger XLT and am thinking about replacing all of the standard 194 bulbs with LED's. I think there are 10 in the cluster.

I've used Superbright bulbs in the past but they go for about $5 each. I see them as cheap as $10 for ten bulbs on Amazon. However, I have also bought some worthless dim LED bulbs as well.

Any recommendations from those who have done this?

Anyone know exactly how many 194 bulbs fit in this instrument cluster? I watched this YouTube example:

I count 8 bulbs with black covers which are changed out in the video.

Then there are what look like 15 brown covered indicator bulbs. I don't know if these are also 194 bulbs or what.

There are also a mess of metal tabs on the back side of the cluster which may or may not be indicator bulbs.

I'd like to know before I remove this cluster.

I have been experiencing GREAT customer support from this company. They have a great tutorial on the different types of LED bulbs, which work best for which job, they even discuss top of the line bulbs vs an economy lineup. Check out HipoParts.com, here is a link:

Assuming 2002 Ranger has Pre-HEC InstrumentCluster (pics above) & DashCenterPanel same as my 2001 ExST,

If you find LEDs that work without flickering or going out in a few weeks\months, let us know.
Hope this helps.

Npdarkside21... are they dimable? I've read on a few posts that some of the LED's are on or off, no dimming.
