What kind of discount did you negotiate on your Ranger. I'd like to hear from as many as possible so new buyers have a consensus idea of how to negotiate.
I wore my dealer down to a $6k discount, from 45.5 to 39.5, on a loaded FX4 Lariat.
I'm in NC. Reply with your discount, state, and trim level.

Following, as this trim is where I'm headed unless something significant persuades me otherwise.

I got my ranger lariat FX4 this past spring at the height of the pandemic. Dealer advised me I could get the discounts/incentives or get 0% for 84Months but I could not get both. We punched the numbers both ways so I went with the 0% for 84. Ended up being about 41K. Love my truck.

My credo
Lead follow or get out of my way
I've still never even sat in a 2019 or newer Ranger... but they sure are growing on me. I also think there is much to come in the Next Gen...

I've been in a Ranger since 1988... but I'm sure hoping Ford pulls a 2-door Bronco Pick Up of of it's bag-o-tricks. Because I just can't see myself without a New Bronco... and a Pick Up. Be nice to get both of those for 40k.

You should go sit in one! Ford did a great job with the new Ranger, inside and out.

Yeah, for my dollar, I think the FX4 Lariat trim level with the Technology Package is well worth the money.

For those who don't want the technology package......

We bought an XL, specifically to avoid all the technology. Kicker is we got the FX-4 package, so you get the 6 spoke aluminum wheels, the bash plates and the upgraded instrument cluster... less is more.

The way I optioned out my 2019, with the points HenryMac makes ran the till up to almost $41,000. That was a custom order since I didn't want to be stuck with whatever the dealer felt people wanted or would be willing to accept. It is also a Supercrew. A Supercab may be less.

So the question is... especially for you since you special ordered your truck, how much of a discount off MSRP were you able to negotiate?

We initially were going to order a Ranger. Dealer said whatever discounts apply when you order the truck are what you get. We looked into it and found the reality is whatever discounts are active when the truck arrives is what you get.

We ended up driving to Laramie WY to get a truck off a lot. Honestly, I don't know which is correct. So it would be interesting to read sgtsandman's experience with this.

When I inquired about how much +/- they will go on a new special ordered Bronco (the bigger one) my dealer said they just go msrp which at least for the Bronco is about as good as it gets.

There wasn't much. A brand spanking new model that people have been demanding for some time, pretty much negated that. My buddy, that I ordered the truck through, did what he could. This is the second truck I bought off him and he has always taken care of me as best he could. He was able to sell the 2011 to me at pretty much a steal and has gone to bat for me on a couple things. He'll continue to get my business and I'd rather put food on a friend's table than some stranger.

2020 Lariat SuperCrew 2WD purchased 8/31/20 off another dealers lot 220 miles away.

MSRP: 39,780
Total discount including factory rebate : 4,600

Maybe not the absolute best deal but dealer gave me 34,000 for my trade in. Car buying services that advertised on TV offered me from 30,000 up to 31,500 max. Never got a serious offer when I tried to sell it privately. Also, when you buy a vehicle in Tennessee, you only pay tax on the difference between your trade in and the new vehicle. That alone saved me over $2,000 compared to not having a trade in.

After dealer fees (also know as extra profit), taxes and title I wrote a check for 2,165 and drove it home very well satisfied with the truck and the deal.

What did you trade in that was worth $34,000?
