Finally finished chopping my cornstalks.

Walked by the tractor getting ready to put the 3 point on it for blading snow and noticed one rear was half flat.

Great.

So I ran it out of the way and got a jack stand and under it to keep the fluid in it until I get something figured out.

Oof, no fun, I dealt with that earlier this year and fixed mine myself, pulling the fluid is the hard part, I don't think the filling valve will work backward with the vent button... those tires are taller than mine so probably 20 gallons in each... tire places charge by volume each direction from what I've heard and I was cheap so I got a fluid extractor and pulled it myself then got a drill pump and a tire filling kit and fixed my tube...

Did a little more cleaning in the shop tonight then worked on straightening out my brothers knife as while I was at Kershaw they said they would try to fix the thing... he lost it getting off a tractor then found it a few days later after he'd ran the tractor tiller over the area, lets just say it wasn't exactly straight afterward :). I wish I had a before pic so I could show a before and after, now it just shows some bumps and bruises instead of being a horseshoe... putting over an hour of labor into straightening a $60 knife might not make sense but it was more of a "can I" thing and just laughing at the situation, it'll have a story... it really only needs a pocket clip and 3 or 4 screws and maybe the isolalater between the two sides, we'll see how much they laugh at me...

In a perfect world sure. I would love to pull it all apart, sandblast and repaint the rim too, I would even spring for a new tube and just delete the fluid.

But on December 8th I have other wishes for my snowplow tractor...

The original rim was blowing apart, this is the "good" one that came with my WD, I stuck the whole wheel assembly on over the summer trying to buy more time. It has a 20 mile tractor ride, a couple trips across the yard and then today's shredding on it... so it didn't really buy much time.

BTDT, I know the drill, my brother has a bunch of tractors we keep limping along... a couple years ago I put on my spare front tire and it lasted like 2 days, ended up buying new fronts and tubes... for my brother he found a pair of radials that fit on his when he struck a water leak :), blue tractor with orange wheels looks kinda silly but it don't matter...

My credo
If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
We took a trip out to my place to grab the cat and turn the heat down since I will be at the GF's house till probably after the holidays. When we got there I had a package waiting for me. My GF got me a laptop cooler for my B-day, what a cool gal to have in my life. So far the cooler has dropped Idle temps from 50°C to 35°C (122°F - 95°F) and gaming temps from 75°C to 62°C (167°F - 143.6°F). I am no longer thermally throttling when playing games and because I knew I'd be here is why I have put a push on to get the old laptop up to minor gaming state. Traveling with a Mid tower case is hard and my storage obsession prevents me from building a mini ITX case for my main gaming system.

It's been snowing here and Major is really enjoying the snow falling. He's been going out on the deck running and hopping like a little kid. It's cute and fun to watch a 240lb animal play in the snow. He keeps trying to take his inside toys out to play with them in the snow. His outside toys have practically frozen themselves to the deck so I understand the want but his mama says no way.

Here is a pic of him being a goof inside:

Busy day for me, was sunny & 52 from being overcast, windy & 30’s-40’s so I cleaned out the chicken house , brought in softner salt, gassed up her escape for the week & repaired a fuel leak on the tractor. Would of been a good day to do that halfshaft bushing & seal but Im still waiting on the installation tool kit for that, might get done over christmas break sometime. I typically dont do much on a sunday besides laundry but when theres a break in the cold weather & things need done thats the way it goes. The asparagus bed will either do real well or not at all now. lol

Packed up some stuff for a potential junkyard run tomorrow. If the weather is really miserable I may not go, but if it’s not too bad, I’m gonna see just how much I can load in a wheelbarrow…

Started off reinstalling the dishwasher and the tray I made yesterday which worked out pretty good, leveled it out and jacked up the legs to get it closer to the counter and now it's more stable than it's been so it apparently wasn't setup right before... Then got to the Ranger T stat housing then mowed the last of the leaves. The wife's sister had car trouble and apparently the battery died on her Lincoln Mark Z which isn't exactly easy to change. I sent the wife with a few simple tools that would have worked for normal vehicles but didn't send with a ratchet and 8mm socket with extension so I had to drive 45 minutes to go finish... Now gotta muster up some energy to go work on moving stuff in the shop over a few feet to clear out the side for the loft...

Not much. It was slow at work today. So, I just sat there looking up wheels on the internet and spaced out. At one point I thought I was a bit dizzy, then the building started making creaking noises at which point I realized I wasn't dizzy and that an earthquake was rolling through. So, I decided to do my civic duty and submit a "Did you feel it" report with the United States Geological Survey.

I had a weekend guest, so on Friday I cleaned up the Lincoln that I had just gotten running again. Runs like a top, but it was a little dusty. I took it to the detail shop, best $25 I’ve ever spent. It looks great

The main reason I really had to get it going again was all these doctors appointments. There’s a part of me that is very contented that I don’t know what you guys are really talking about with the fluids in the tractor tires and such. A different world down here, I needed the Lincoln so I could fit into the parking garages for the doctors. All of the trucks are too tall.

And for me, the big news is that the little herd of goats will be here on Wednesday afternoon to clear up my backyard. You guys are probably going to howl, but all of my artsy fartsy and engineering friends are going to come over and sit on the deck and look at the goats as if they were unicorns or flying horses.. That’s going to be my holiday party this year.
