I made sure all the parts I ordered from Rockauto were in the box. Now I need to order rotors and brake pads.

I did a lot the last couple days, both days I started off walking around the field at my moms/brothers place looking for deer, spooked two yesterday but didn't see either, today spooked a doe and saw it but that was it... was too busy both days to walk around at dusk instead of dawn...

Yesterday after walking around the field I went and helped at the tractor pull grounds and ended up helping pull all the bleacher boards off that we put on like a month and a half ago so they could get tarped for the winter so we can stain them in the spring. Then around 6pm I headed to the inlaws since their kitchen sink was leaking, turns out it was just the hose from the valve to faucet, replaced that then got home and cleared off a trailer so I could haul something for my mom today. After we got back from doing that I grabbed my brother and two pieces of roofing metal he had and we went to town on my boat shed and finished it aside from putting some of the #12 screws in to plug some unused holes (used metal) and making two short patch pieces since two pieces were like 2" too short... we even got the boat in the shed tonight! On the end of the shed we even got a start on the firewood lean to on the end to square the thing out...

Then the boat in said shed, I'm a foot further from the wall than planned and could have gone back another foot but good enough for now so it's covered for the inches of rain that's coming this week:

Today I picked up some grade 8 bolts and nuts.
Last week I hauled a half ton of flume gravel in my '87 and twisted the rusted PS front leaf spring bracket. I used a cutoff wheel on an angle grinder and removed the rivets and punched them through. One was a bear as it went through another bracket inside the frame rail and punching it would just make the inner bracket bounce.
I ended up drilling it out to 3/8" and that lessened its hold enough to punch through.
New bracket comes Thursday and should take about an hour to get it back in service.

Monday I did the first round of mowing leaves and getting some more things put under the new lean to to get ready for the rain that showed up today.

Yesterday I helped my brother with a tractor again, one of the fuel lines was basically a hard brake line and was worn through and not seating at the flare so we just went to town and got a $7 brake line that matched up and put that in, then the low pressure pump wasn't working and he conveniently had one "in stock" so we put that on and so far that is working, raining so no testing yet... he said maybe friday.

Tonight I drug home some pallet wood and some angle iron pallet frame things and disassembled those so now I have more 1x6 lumber I don't have anywhere to store and a couple sticks worth of like 1" angle iron that was free other than the one cutting disc I used extracting it... then I screwed around looking at the welding cart on little mods, I need to mount the welder plug at the end of the extension cord that's on it which will also let me tap into it and get 120V so I can use my power strip that I mounted on the cart so I can run grinders that I also have plans to make mounts on the cart for... I'm a 1 man show so there won't be grinding going on while welding so don't stress on me doing things too wrong for the breaker...

I made sure everything from the second Rockauto order arrived. I ordered six items and all those item had their own box. The first box had a Centric rotor. There was a second box that had the second rotor. There was a 16" X 16" square box. That box had the 14 oz bottle of hand cleaner in it all tangled up in packing paper. I unwrapped the packing to make sure nothing else was in there and one of the magnets with a picture of a car fell out. It was a Chevy something. Rockauto needs more Fords for their magnets. The third box had the grease gun in it. The fourth had a brake bleeder kit in it. I haven't tried those things, but they were $5, so I figured it was worth a try. The fifth box was about 4" x 6" and I couldn't remember what I had ordered that called for such a small box. This box had clear packing tape wrapped around it 15 times on all sides. I had to get the dull box cutter to cut the tape. That box had four little box cutters in it. The sixth box was 12" x 4". It had the 21 mm box wrench I ordered just in case I needed it because we all know what it is like to not have something you need when working on vehicles because you will alway find out you need that tool about ten minutes before all the stores close..

All those items came from two warehouses. The rotors came from one. The rest came from another and could have fit in one 16" x 16" box. I think someone at Rockauto was amusing themselves as if they thought they they could fill my front porch with boxes, or make it difficult to open the box that had the tools in it to cut through the packing tape.

Tonight I stopped at HD and picked up the single gang box and lid I needed for the welder power project and even finished it! Now the welder cord is attached to the cart instead of just on the hooks on the back... came in for dinner but will go out and look for some tube that'll fit in grinder handles then see about mounting like 3 that way and add another piece of strap metal on one side to mount a couple others by the disc... will be nicer.

I shredded leaves yesterday and will cut the grass today. It's about time to run the lawn equipment dry and put them to bed for the winter. I might keep the shredder vac readybto go and hope for a warm, dry day or two in February so I can clean up the leaf dump the beech tree will do while I'm away. The garden needs more mulch and the beech dumps so many leaves, it will kill the yard if I don't care of it before Spring.

One of the previous ding dong owners of this old Datsun decided to install a wing on the back which required 6 holes - seems he did it with a hammer, chisel, and tek screws. Yes, he used the hammer on the screws too.

P.S. I tend to set my beer can on the anvil of the vise next to where my shop laptop is. For some reason I've been setting my spray bomb there today - it's lucky it has a spray nozzle because it's about 4 times I've picked it up to drink it and would have but couldn't figure out how.

I'm going to guess virtually none of you will have heard of Alpine beer, which is made by Moosehead; I doubt even most western Canadians will know Moosehead, but it's the Yuengling of Canada, the oldest independent brewery left. Every fall, Alpine does a camo batch.

They make beer?? I thought they made headlight covers!

When I went to college, you could buy a six pack (12 ounce) of Genesee beer for $.89. Genny cream was $.99. Quarter keg of Genny cream ale was $8.25, but you had to leave a $10 deposit for the keg and tap. They would take a check that they wouldn’t cash unless you didn’t bring it back. I found that out on the first night I was there.

I’m not sure if they’re still around, but I’m curious if you could even buy a six pack for $8.25 now. Finger lakes area of upstate New York.

I spent half the day at the eye doctor. @bobbywalter almost predicted it. I was playing with Lincoln, and he jumped and scratched my eye. Satan!

Just a little scratch just feels like somethings in my eye. Im going to tie him to a tree this weekend, and if my eye still hurts on Monday, I’ll have him put down.

I’m not sure, which is worse, getting scratched in the eye, or babysitting five women and a boy for a week
