Back when political flyers were a thing here Id remove wiper blades so they couldn’t leave their trash on my vehicle. One time I caught someone about to leave a flyer & yelled at them.

I'm scratching my head as to which window seal they damaged. Are you talking about the rubber molding around the windshield? If so where are you finding it for $50. I've been wondering about replacing that without removing the windshield. Mine is pretty weathered and rough after 25 years, and want to replace it when I eventually repaint the truck.

I think you handled it right. Unless it was a real small time local candidate, it's unlikely that the campaigner caused the damage. The campaign probably has a bunch of distributors that they pay a few bucks a day to run around and throw those ads on cars. Unfortunately, your complaint will most likely fall on deaf ears. Even if the compaign managers take it seriously and brief the distributors, they aren't watching them full time.

I completely agree with about don't touch my ride though. Send mailers, hand out flyers, post road signs if you must, but don't mess with my property.
It’s the seal/molding at the bottom of the driver’s side window, not the windshield. I should have been more specific.
If it was the windshield seal/trim thing, that’s probably a whole different animal.

And I can say with confidence that it wasn’t the candidate themselves who caused the damage, which is why I probably won’t chase this far. $50 is only worth so much of my time, and I was going to replace them eventually anyway.

bad day today ..sadness. RIP Rocky.

i couldn't be more grateful..for such a fine animal.

Rocky was a service level animal and has been at my side for 6 years and actually saved my life one time.

the vast majority of people can never understand that level of trained working animal that only lives to serve you.

most people that meet me dont even know i am crippled up as i get around pretty good half the time.

the very few days he was not with me of the 6 plus years i was blessed to have his presence, he was with my daughter getting vet care where she worked ... then at home with my wife.... recently young bob had him for two days....

less then 40 days total separation in 6 years. he traveled all over this country with me wherever i went ...bar restaurant.... hospital....

life definitely wont be the same.

So sorry for your loss. Anybody who knows dogs and saw the 2 of you together could sense the bond and realize how great he was. You gave him a great life and it showed.

That is a damn shame. Sorry for your loss. A regular dog is loss enough, let alone a service animal that you depend on for well being.

The beginning of a long project. Well theoretically it's cooler this time of year 93f vs 104f. I enjoyed 18 months of mostly weekend masonry training from the best stone & brick layers on the SF peninsula back in my Cali days. The old man built the water mausoleum in the city. Told us kids all about him wearing a top hat & tails setting the Queen's cobble stones back in the old country. So I'm planning on installing some stones at the base of each front porch stanchion. The only issue is that the builder was a cheapskate and never finished out the 6" slab out far enough, and like me (I'm a cheapskate too), I have to make it work by extending the foundation out far enough. Solid 3x5 rock below. Hardy board doesn't do well with water, but when completed will not be an issue any longer. This project entails 5 on each side of the house. About 40" high x 30" square. 3ea. 80# bags full. Easy work at this part. Lots of lines to string when the time comes to start setting the limestone block, then the detail, thin red stone, center round granite, then finish with the limestone again. There will be some shade I keep telling myself. Would cost me $5,000 in materials, the labor is free from me. Someone else will enjoy it because I'm moving when it's done.

A few years ago, I would not have understood. I never had a dog before Satan. I don’t know what I’d do without him now.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Did some troubleshooting on my A/C system and then put in a service call for Wednesday when I'm off work again.

Condenser fan runs, evaporater fan runs, good strong airflow. Circuitboard diagnostic LEDs report "normal operation". Full voltage going to compressor. Compressor not shorted to ground and no open windings. Capacitor rated for 35mfd, reads 35mfd for compressor but only 4mfd for Condenser fan. Seems right for compressor and wrong for fan. But fan is running fine. Unit "sounds normal" as in compressor is probably running. But I need a new battery for my ammeter. So I can't verify running amps. Pressed one of the Schrader valves and verified there is pressure in the system. Just don't know how much. It felt like a lot.

I guess I could try putting it in heating mode and see if that does anything. Maybe jar the reversing valve if it's stuck. I'll get a battery for my meter after work and take current readings tonight.hopefully I can save the tech some time on Wednesday by having info ready for him (her?) To verify. They're kind of busy right now with hurricane damage jobs.
Congratulations to me! I'm buying a new evaporater coil for my air conditioner! Yay! Yippee!

So sorry for your loss Bobby. he was a sweet dog and so chilled out. David who usually does not do well with dogs had no problem with him when you all were wheeling. That was an amazing tribute to Rocky's "chill" level in itself, as David usually freaks out over large dogs.

My favorite memory was Rocky in the front seat of your Bronco II at the Gas station at LBL last year looking like he was ready to drive away in it.

Both for $35. I couldn’t resist. No self-control.

I was looking for the top one for use on the deck of the step trailer. They sell them at Harbor freight for $29.

I don’t know what I’m going to do with the bottom one, but it’s $130 adjustable Reese hitch. It’ll probably replace one of the ones I just leave in each of the trucks.

I added suspension parts and a 21mm impact socket to my Rockauto shopping cart. I'll probably submit the order tomorrow after I double-check it to make sure I have everything I need.

When I added the 21mm socket the shipping went from $40 to $22. I added a set of brake pads and it went up to $61 and the shipping time went out to the 21st. Of course, I removed the brake pads. I will do a separate order for the brake parts. The shipping for that will be $16.99, and it will take two days to arrive, plus I can add the wheel bearing grease and the shipping doesn't go up. I think something is disfunctionado with Rockauto's warehouse selection algorithm.

BTW, grease, threadlocker, impact sockets, tools, and general things like that are really cheap on Rockauto. That socket is $2.69 on Rockauto. Amazon wants over $10 for it. The tube of wheel bearing grease is $3.68 on Rockauto. It's $13.99 on Amazon. And Amazon is more expensive than Walmart.

Not a lot got done yesterday other than tool cleanup and putting deck screws away.

I also pulled the trailer out of the garage and prepped it to load the dead refrigerators on it. @lil_Blue_Ford says he knows a guy who will take them. They just need to be hauled over to him.

So, today, the refrigerators will get loaded and strapped down in the trailer for the trip.

Yesterday morning was not fun. But anyway, my buddy Paul came over around noon or so and we winched his 70’s Dodge 2500 PowerWagon out of my property, hooked it on a tow bar and dragged it up to Paul’s behind the F-150. Wasn’t a fun ride because of bad shocks and flat spots on the tires and the dumb thing trying to push me around, but it was only a few miles of mostly back roads. Tried to back it in at Paul’s but it was pushing the back end of the F-150 sideways as I went back so we had to push it by hand in place after unhooking and of course the rag joint on the steering of the Dodge picked that point to let go (annoying, but probably the best time for a failure like that to occur). I ended up using the winch on the F-150 to “steer” the truck in place (I dragged the back end of the Dodge until it was where we needed it, lol). Should have got some video but didn’t, just one pic that you can kind of see the Dodge behind my tank…
