Kinda curious on your qualms with WF, I've been with them for like 24 years now for banking, service has gone downhill drastically in the last few years for sure and I had no chance of getting a mortgage through them which is fine by me... I'm still with them mainly from pure laziness and that my first credit card was through them so yeah... I only use it because of cash back, I've gotten way more cash back than I've paid in interest since I use the card like they don't want me to...
#1 they bombarded me with credit card solicitations every time I log into my account no matter how many times I click "Not interested" and quite a few in my regular mail. I complained and they actually stopped, for like 2 months, and then I guess they thought it was cool to start doing it again.

#2, their whole fake account scandal.

#3, one of our business accounts is there. Not my doing nor can I change it. They recently started nit picking every little thing on our checks when the secretary goes in for our weekly deposit. It takes her hours to do a simple task... hours I am paying her for, hours that she's not in the office doing work. My boss contacted their regional president and he said that it was because of their fake account scandal and the feds are watching them like hawks. They created the problem in the first place!

Good day at the junkyard! Found a 97 aetostar 4x4! I've never seen one of those. It had a 4.0 but unfortunately someone cut the intake tube in half 😱

While it probably isn't long enough, nor the from the right generation, I grabbed the throttle cable. I can at least do some comparisons to mine and maybe modify it.

Cool looking van

Also, it looks like the lighted homelink visors from an 04 expedition fit in my 94 ranger. Gotta work out wiring still.

Grabbed the intake tube off a 2000 4.0 ranger in hopes that it might work in my 94. It's about the right length and the openings on each end are a pretty close match. However, it doesn't have enough of an angle to reach the airbox on my 94. Looks like they moved the airbox closer to the front in the 2000. Maybe I can 3D print something to adapt it.

That should have an 8.8 rear axle in it. Might be worth grabbing if you need an upgrade.

I already have the 8.8 on mine, but that's good information! Appreciate it!

If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
I put together the Summit and thinking I was all done so I could play with it tomorrow but then I was looking at the exploded view I noticed that I for got a shim in the carrier so now I need to take it all back apart and install that shim. I was looking at the exploded view on my phone at the kitchen table but because it is such a small screen, 6.4", in comparison to my 27" monitor I missed it. Boy do I feel like an a$$ right now for missing it. 🤦‍♂️

It's like a 3-4 hour process to tear it apart and put it back together.... Ugh.

Looking at it on my phone screen I can see how you could easily make that mistake.

Just think how fast you'll be able to put it back together this time!

Earlier this year I bought a Tisas 1911 and a holster. have yet to take it out to the range. I like the feel of it. the magazines are stiff though...

I've heard a lot of good things from fellow service members who bought Turkish firearms while in Turkey. I have a couple Canik pistols and I like them. They have a really nice trigger for a striker fired pistol. Almost as good as a 1911. I wish my S&W and Springfield Armory pistols were as nice.

I installed 3,000# (100 blocks) of retaining wall block in the garden and back filled the up hill portion. I have another 50 block ordered and ready for pick up but ran out of day light and I needed to eat. The 50 blocks should darn near finish the wall portion of the project. I may need a few more after that to complete the down hill wall and build some steps. I still need to figure out how many blocks the steps will need since I didn't think that far ahead.

Fair enough, the ads constantly in my email and every time I go online to pay my CC are annoying but just ignore them like all the other spam... I don't do anything too fancy like business and don't remember the last time I used a check but I still have some... I know the 3 hours of business they're open a day 3 days a week or whatever is super dumb anymore but at least the ATM limits have gotten higher since inflation has gone super dumb... $300 doesn't do much anymore... It's on the list to change but I'll wait until it gets more annoying for my uses...

I don't like banks in general. They seem to always have a fee for something and making accessing your own money a hassle. Unfortunately, some federal credit unions are becoming just as bad (Clearview FCU).

I’ve gotten to shoot a variety of stuff over the years. My favorite 1911s to shoot have been the Springfield Armory Loaded and TRP pistols. Oddly enough, the Llama 1911 (cheap Spanish 1911 pistols) are very rough comparatively but one of the most reliable I’ve ever shot. Not really impressed with Kimber, I think the SA Loaded and TRP are just as good if not slightly smoother. Shot a Ruger 1911 and wasn’t impressed at all, I’d actually rank it below the Llama.

My favorite non-1911 but still .45 caliber that I’ve shot was a SA XD-45 Compact 4” barrel. It has a shorter grip than the regular XD pistols but a 13 round mag with grip extension will give you a full size grip. Regular mag is 10 rounds. Grip felt better to me than any Glock or Taurus poly gun I’ve ever shot.

I’ve also shot a SA XDS-45. 3.3” barrel, 5 round mag. It’s a handful of a pop gun.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.

My first *nice* pistol was an OG XD .45. I loved how it shot & felt in hand.. until I shot a glock lol.

Oh, I didn't pay full price. I lucked out on a couple clearance sales for the 4" and 5". The store I bought them from doesn't typically cater to people who are willing to pay Kimber prices. They still weren't cheap but they were full retail either.

I don't use the 5" much since it has a steel frame. My back doesn't like the weight and it feels like I'm drawing a frigging long knife. It's amazing how much of a difference an extra inch of barrel makes for waist carry.
Man... I can only hope to stumble upon a clearance sale for firearms one day. My local shop deals with a LOT of fancy NFA items.. so they know they have customers with money 😣

A LOT of money.

One of my buddys from high-school, his father had a real deal selectfire m16.. he sold it way back when he got 'bored' of it for something like 22k 😳
