One of mine has a navel battle rolled onto the cylinder. Another has a Calvery battle.

I like that. :icon_thumby:

Did they issue that to you that way? Or did you get it etched on your own initiative?
They were issued that way, and our unit number was etched on the side. That flying wheel logo on the slide was visible when it was in the holster. Our Remington 870's had the logo on the side of them as well.

I paid my house off - 21 years early.

Wells Fargo can suck a big fat donkey dong. I hate those bastards so much. Now I never have to deal with them again.

Make sure to grab their credit card so you can keep paying them interest. 🙄

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.

It's neat you got to keep it, did you have to pay for it or was it a nice 'thank you'?

I might have to get a credit card just to maintain my credit score. Right now I have no debt and a small line of credit through my bank but I would have to remember to use it. I think if I just transfer money out and then back in periodically, it'll be the same thing as a credit card.

Sure as hell won't be with Wells Fargo in any case.

I just find it funny that as you're closing out your mortgage, they can't resist trying to sell you more things to get you back on the hook. One of the aviation channels I watch had a great breakdown of the financial releases of 3 major US airlines which showed that they make way more money on their credit card products than they do on flying airplanes around. Which is why you can't go to the local lemonade stand without them offering you a credit card.
After decades of being in debt, I finally made my last payment and got debt-free when I was 51. Possibly the best feeling I ever had in my life. Those of you in debt, I feel your pain. This also probably explains why I struggle to shake off the frugality.

I got the canvas cover finished on the most recent firewood rack I built. Now to get the retaining wall done on the garden so it can actually be used as a garden.

Grabbed a nice looking carpet cleaner off the curb a block away from the house. I'm not a carpet cleaner expert but suffice it to say, if you have a plastic fluid container that's cracked, first try glue. Then when that leaks try a sandwich box and more glue. After that, put electrical tape on top, then duct tape. Then, when that still leaks, try silicone inside, then packing tape on top, then duct tape on top of that. Then electrical tape outside, and then 2 layers of duct tape on top. Then put it at the curb.

That is the correct procedure.

Pulled the blower motor out to NOT find a mouse nest. Surprised, since I turned the heat on the other day and got a nose full. I wiped down everything I could reach with cleaning spray anyway.

The fan itself was really foul. Took it apart and soaked it in soapy water for a while then scrubbed it. Tossed it back in.

Might need to pull the dash to get to the rest of the vents 😔. Planning for a junkyard trip tomorrow, that will be fun!

My credo
the grey-t escape
Going on a road trip tomorrow, probably about 100/150 miles round trip to pick up a new back door, after measuring it will be too long for either the escapes or the equinox so I need to trailer it, was going to use the trailer I bought new last year but changed my mind & now am going to use the ranger trailer. Had to take out my mini fridge (its been a shelter for egg sales in the yard the past 2 years) , put better tires on it for the trip, take the cap off, put a license plate on it & put on my harbor freight l.e.d. mag-mount trailer lights. At one time the ranger bed lights worked but not even the license plate light works anymore. It’s barely used for highway service so its just less headache to break out the mag-mount lights when I do need to hit the highway. The ranger trailer is less length, width & weight than my 6x10 landscape-stlye open trailer & has a softer spring rate too. Dont want to beat up a $500 door, not sure what kind of traffic headaches I will get into but having less length & width may be helpful.

Became a '1911 guy'

Gave up an AK to get it but... it was one of those bastardized AKs that shoots 5.56 😣 blech. It was all covered in aluminum quad-rail nonsense too so.. good riddance 😋
Earlier this year I bought a Tisas 1911 and a holster. have yet to take it out to the range. I like the feel of it. the magazines are stiff though...

Kinda curious on your qualms with WF, I've been with them for like 24 years now for banking, service has gone downhill drastically in the last few years for sure and I had no chance of getting a mortgage through them which is fine by me... I'm still with them mainly from pure laziness and that my first credit card was through them so yeah... I only use it because of cash back, I've gotten way more cash back than I've paid in interest since I use the card like they don't want me to...
