Today I took a road trip. Not much of a road trip, but enough to know that the GA Summit Racing store has gone down hill and pick up pistons and other parts to drop off at the machine shop. With pistons delivered maybe I'll get the block back to start building the bottom end soon.

Was also surprised by an Amazon delivery. This new Juneteenth holiday thing. It's a federal holiday and federal employees have the day off, so I assumed that postal workers would too.Was not expecting to get an amazon package and normal mail delivery, but it happened. Kind of glad that USPS hasn't gotten on board with it, I'd rather have been at work than have this made up, pointless, activist holiday. Hey at least it gave me the time to drive up and get those parts.

Yes, I understand what the day is supposed to represent, but the date selection makes no sense. The emancipation proclimation was not signed on June 19th. They say that it represents the end of slavery and when the last of the slaves were freed which happened in Texas on June 19th, 1895. That was only true for the former Confederate (southern) states, there was still active slavery on going in the Union (northern) states through December that year. Yep, that's right the north continued to be slave holders for 6 months after all slaves were emancipated in the south. Now think about this, the Emancipation Procilmation was signed into law on January 1st, 1863. If the north was so great with regards to freeing slaves, why did they continue to have slaves for another 3 years? For 6 months past when they forced it on the southern states? That should clue people in on the fact that the civil war and freeing slaves wasn't about slavery, but about crippling the southern states that relied on the practice large part of their economy. I'm not justifying slavery or saying that it didn't need to go away, I just get tired of the brushes people use to paint the whole thing using modern morals and a skewed view of history.

Sorry, I'll get off my soap box now.

I hear beating on things with hammers can be very therapeutic for some.
For others, they might have to take a body to the airport afterwards. @Gibby6468 your choice of words there left more questions than answers. Bodies... Squishies... Was the body a passenger or luggage? If the latter, did the airport know that the body was in the luggage? Were the squishies more bodies? Do we possibly need to get the kids some psychiatric help?

I see, you're in the death business. Mortician, coroner, or something in that field. Thank you for what you do, most people couldn't handle it, but we will all need it at some point.

Most people also wouldn't think about bodies flying around. Even being around the aviation industry I forget that it happens outside of military.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

For most of us, transporting a "body to another state" would probably be a criminal offense. I hope your activity was legal.

The boss talked me into an accessory to relocate golf balls and beverage cans to a fair distance away... good times!

Once I got home I used my new bead breaking tool on the tractor, somehow the inner bead is pristine and the outer bead is rusted to heck? Not sure how that works, the rim isn't too bad yet so I'm going to spend time cleaning it up and painting it before I put it back together, I patched the one hole in the tube and one slit in the tire and put a pre-emptive patch over another big gash that isn't all the way through (while I'm there). Hopefully get it back together tomorrow or Friday night, might clean and paint the wheel tomorrow then assemble Friday. Got the wheel bearings and shock for the '90 Ranger today so I'll get that put back together in the next couple days...

While not something I did today.. I did appreciate it today since it's so MF hot 😣

Made the switch from cigarettes to the fairy juice.

My buddy with MS hooked me up with the actual vape since he bought one bigger&fancier.. so all I had to get was extra coils and some juice. The pb&jam is pretty good lol.. the pb part is pretty light but the jam is nigh overwhelming.. the smaller bottle tastes like cinnamon toast crunch/French toast.. yum.

Do NOT crave cigarettes anymore, and this crap is MILES CHEAPER. 100ml bottles of juice are 25$ at the shop down the street from my work.. (or 10$ on sale) and I end up going through about 5ml a day.. so about a buck a day vs. $11 for smokes. Should be saving about 270$ a month.

Whether or not vaping is any better for your health or not.. who knows.. probably not.. but if I'm gonna kill myself it might as well be as cheaply as I can 🤷‍♀️ at least with the vape I can slowly get weaker and weaker concentrations of juice until it's nicotine free.. and then switch to hard candies or something just for the same kinda taste lol.

So, my understanding is that most of the problems that happen with vapes (the “popcorn lung” and such) is a direct result of people cheaping out and buying black or grey market juice and such. The ol “Hey, look, I got a quart of vape juice from this dude down the street that mixes it up in his garage.” You’re just begging for trouble at that point. All a vape juice should have is strictly basic ingredients and bought from a reputable place. Unfortunately, somehow, somewhere, my mod went missing along with two tanks. I’m kinda salty about it.

Worked some more on the ol F-150. Got a bunch of bolts, both driveshafts, both shifters, leaf spring plates and U-bolts, and an oil change left to be done. Hopefully I can get that knocked out tomorrow. Dad helped with getting new U-joints in the front driveshaft so it’s ready to go in and he helped with drilling some holes for my one attachment for my farm tractor. This heat is ridiculous though, I’m gonna have to put AC in my garage.

Put the carb together for my 1977 Pinto. Wasn't difficult but the choke system was a bit of a head scratcher. I think I got it tho.
However, there was a piece on the back of the carb that I've never seen before. I decided to delete it as from what I could figure it would be a major vacuum leak. It doesn't have bi-metallic springs. It seems like it might be some kind of pressure relieving device. Its connected to manifold vacuum directly under the throttle plates. Perhaps @19Walt93 might have an idea?

My credo
Giving my truck more money than it deserves.
Tore down the Capri 4bbl today to start diagnosing some poor running. (I guess I'm one of those darn milennials since its my first one...) The metering block for the secondaries is absolute junk! Its so bad I'm choosing to believe its counterfeit and not cast by someone on Holley's payroll.

What is the tolerable amount of play for the butterfly shafts in the throttle plate? There is play, but its only in the side which the choke acts upon. Every video I have watched on the subject implies it should wear where the throttle cable attaches.

Also, Zyn is my poison of choice. Pure nicotine and the same flavorings as chewing gum. The only thing bad I inhale is gas fumes.

Got my hairs cut, did some shopping at the Harbor Freight (Tool Thread), and removed the spare tire mounts from the utility trailer (Build thread).

Yeah that's what I've read, about the popcorn lung and stuff.. Definitely gonna buy all my stuff in person at the shop down the street. The selection they have is unreal.. the juice shelf/wall is at least 6' high and probably close to 20' long 😳 TOO MANY choices if anything lol.

I'd be salty too though.. those mods aren't cheap. The one my buddy got was like 80-90$ by itself and then of course batteries are separate.. and another tank.. and spare coils.. adds up quick.

Yup, I bought the mod used, but it was still $60 (GeekVape Ageis). Then I bought a protective silicone cover, plus batteries, and the two tanks were GeekVape Zeus (think they were like $60 each). I mostly used zero nicotine (funny thing is, a lot of the zeros still had nicotine warnings on them, lol) and I was using CBD juice too (zero THC). The CBD juice helped with anxiety and the zero nicotine was more for my ADD/ADHD. Kinda like a fidget thing. Liked blowing giant clouds just for something to do. I did end up with a few nicotine ones, either I was given those or couldn’t find what I wanted in a zero.
