For whatever reason they only have the neck's for long beds and step sides... is there a difference on the long bed neck? I didn't think so but I've been wrong before. They mention fiber reinforced which would prevent the disaster that's going on now...

My credo
I sniff fuel for a living. Don't judge me!
I've never seen a long bed in person, so I don't know. I think the front section of the bed is longer. It could be that the tank sits differently since the frame is longer than a regular cab short bed. Maybe...

Yeah, never had a long bed myself... I know it's an extra 6" on both ends of the rear axle but that's about it...

The long bed has the fill door farther back from the cab... so the tank sits in the truck differently.

I have a first gen longbed tank in my iron pile if a pic would help... kinda doubt it would do much good for a comparison with a third gen tank though.

yeah, everywhere says '93-97 is it's own thing. I know the filler neck is further back (roughly 6" I'm pretty sure), I'll do more looking.

My credo
That one guy with ADHD and doesn't stop talking about cars.
Think I might clean the glass on my ranger today and wash it Thursday because I'm going to be busy next couple days helping grandpa clean house. He's getting house refinanced and doesn't really leave me with time recently to wash my truck....such is life.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I don't know if I would trust someone with his eyesight to do body work..../jk.

He probably feels about a small as small can be.

I tallied up all the costs of my Ranger since i got her last April and it comes to a grand total of $6530 (approximate), which includes initial purchase cost and fees, dmv related fees, keys, parts and small services. For parts and small services alone, it's come out to $3400, not including paint, and liquids. Of course my own labor wasn't factored in.
A bit gut wrenching, but the truck performs and drives like new, so oh well it's an investment.

At least make him think he has to fix it. Who knows, his love for Rangers may start there.

Yeah, don't do that as time goes on.

In that regard... ignorance is bliss.

haha absolutely. These were just the initial costs to get the truck up to speed. Beyond a few more things, everything after will be maintenance.

Drove the Ranger today with the new motor. Got to go over tighten everything exhaust wise again, I have a sticky throttle body or pedal I think. It hangs the rpms a lil while shifting and when you take you're foot off the throttle it keeps pulling a lil untill you brake. I already did that IAC reset and reset the throttle.
