IAC might be stuck.
The IAC is doing what it is told to do. If there is a vacuum leak the IAC will attempt to compensate by closing and reducing air flow. If the vacuum leak is large enough the IAC will not be able to bring the idle down to the specified range, a code will appear stating the IAC is unable to compensate. If a sensor is sending the incorrect data the PCM which then tells the IAC to do something, such as allow more air into the engine to help compensate for a rich mixture due to the MAF or the TPS sending data stating the volume of air or the throttle is operating at a greater value than it should be. The idle also goes down to normal at a complete stop which is due to the speed sensor indicating I'm not moving and the PCM sending that data to the IAC.

Removed the redneck 2x4 “tailgate.” Rattle canned the factory tailgate flat black. Ace spray paint actually lays down fantastically. I think I like it better than Rusto. Only time will tell if it’s any good. Purchased a 2” lowering block kit at Advanced. Hope to get it installed this evening. Old U-boats are looking pretty rusty. Might even hang out underneath to do some rust treatments.

I was just going to mention the speed sensor as I've heard of others with that solving things... if there's a bit of goo on the tip it could be noisy... that could be taken wrong, I'm tired, you get what you get :)

Since the problem started immediately after cleaning the throttle body, I'm sure it is something I did and likely not a sensor issue. Unless I the throttle body cleaner did something to the TPS.

Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you.
I just ordered a Flowmaster FX Muffler for my 93 Ranger 4.0hh. Gonna get ready to Rumble.
I'm stoked. It says it doesn't fit my Ranger, but I have my doubts.

Nothing to the ranger other than drive it here. Was my first time seeing the 4 wides tho. And I must say I'm highly impressed. I tried to upload a small video of 4 wide launch. But it wouldn't take

That looks awesome to watch. I have never heard of four wide

The ranger killed it another Friday night and Saturday. Drove to kingsville with the other cars but they were going to fast, I was bouncing off the governor so I need to take that off somehow. 92 almost got me in trouble at one turn because I couldn't go faster to get out of the way.

And then after all the bike event stuff Saturday morning, I got a super deal on a front load washer and dryer combo, 200 bucks. So we ran to the island and loaded them up. I did not know front loader washers are almost three man lifts though and make the truck squat down. But having all that weight in the back made it ride like a Cadillac

Swapped out my flasher relay for a new one that allows LED’s to function properly instead of the hyper flash. Cleaned my EGR Valve. Debated about deleting it as I was trying to tighten the locking collar nut up against the firewall. Today going to attempt the fuel pump and filler neck hose. Happy Sunday y’all!

Left my friend's house in the mtns this evening and I learned more how precious life is...

Got about a mile down the dark curvey road and Come across a roll over in the ditch. I stopped to look and got out both my maglites and shined in the SUV to find a single occupant. She was covered in blood head to toe. Someone stopped to call 911..in the meantime I kept her alert and talking. She was fading in and out, I kept her talking for 20 mins until cops and fire department arrived. Assist with until she was out and loaded into the ambulance. I have a couple more words for her to get a big thank you. A paramedic came to say she would likely not have made it if you were not here talking to her. Waited until ambulance was gone to get a police escort to be on my way home.

As I was letting my ranger idle for a little bit, couple of chp and sheriff's said it sounds real good and like my ranger.

Overall my ranger and I did a great thing..saving another life... WOW.

I just used the CB antenna on my Ranger to totally splatter a fluorescent light bulb in the garage when I pulled it to get at my vacuum to clean up F-150A.

To think that almost didn't happen. Glad you were there for a stranger in need. Total role reversal from a short time ago.
