My credo
If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
Getting back to what this thread was for, I changed out the brake master cylinder today. I have a more consistent peddle and stops so success.

Edit: my brake light that was on dim is out hopefully for good this time.

I also changed out a wiper motor and transmission on the GF's trailblazer. The electronics crapped out so they would do what they wanted and wouldn't shut off. The first part was defective and the wiper arm on the passenger side wouldn't work. We took the Ranger on a test drive up to Bennington VT. to get a replacement and that is all set now. Funny enough the motor and transmission were cheaper than the module on the motor itself.

I replaced the starter, the top mounting bolt came out due to broken threads, than snaped the mounting tab off the starter at the next bolt allowing the end bearing on the bendix to make contact with the flywheel. One longer bolt, the stock bolt only used 1/3 of the threads available, and a 100$ starter that will barely get used untill my 4.0 swap and now shes fixed.

Giving my truck more money than it deserves.
Today I cut apart the driver side floor to do the rust repair. I pulled the fender off to get better access to the rotten A pillar. Only to discover one of the previous owners pop riveted the rad support in!

I'm sorry but if I ever see the person who pop riveted in my rad support crooked its instant hands.

Well after i fixed the starter. i took her for a drive. Since my wife and son are at a mommy and me playdate sleep over with her moms group i was free lol. A very nice drive through the hills of Capitol forest took about 3.5 hours, ended up in another county, and took the highway home. There was a hill climb i should have taken a photo of, but i didnt. Had to of been 60+ degree hill, on loose gravel. 2wd just wouldnt do it so i kicked into 4 hi and gave her the skinny peddle, and i shit you not this little 2.3 flew up that hill like a raped ape.

I pulled the clutch master last weekend to bleed it, but decided to replace it while it was out I dead of in 6 months.

Got the new one in this morning, but then couldn’t find the key......

Dealer can make me a new one, but they the door lock cylinder and ignition cylinder because they don’t use the same pins on the key.....

Cant pull the ignition lock cylinder without the key, so now I pull the steering column.

sitting at the dear now waiting for my new key.

Neighbor came over to see what I was doing pulling half the dash apart, told him I was working on the transmission.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Did “Dear” serve you a bunch alcohol while you were waiting for the key?

Unfortunately the dear dealer did not. They did let me sit in their barely air conditionings waiting area though.

So the guy made a copy of the key based on the numbers on the lock cylinder, but it didn’t open the lock. So I left the lock cylinder and steering column with the parts guy, hopefully he can figure it out on Monday.
