If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
Looked at it through the window as it got rained on and felt appreciative that it has only have needed a wrecker once in over 3 years and that was a bad "new" part. It has treated me well and I treat equally as well with new parts and regular maintenance as needed. On this Thanksgiving day I feel thankful to have friends that allowed me to purchase such a clean Ranger at such an affordable price and that this truck has treated me well, starting every day and only once, not of its own fault, left me stranded needing help to get home.

Well, the 92 runs and drives much better. No hesitation, no struggling, no messed up shifts. Looking like a good get around truck until my green one is back up

Finally got a chance to inspect, clean, and lube the brakes and install the winter tires on the FX4. I'm starting to not mind rear disc brakes so much, at least with that truck. They are made with intentional thought instead "how can we make this work" like they did on the 8.8 axle on the Rangers and the Explorers.

I parked on a slightly steep driveway and noticed that my e-brake didn't hold. I backed in and they held going forward, barely.

Got off early, put the rear axle on stands, pulled the wheels, spacers, and drums. The adjusters weren't working, the little arms that turn the star wheel were corroded and worn.

I manually adjusted the pads and got good e-brake again. Tomorrow I'll replace the hardware.

Picked up a cap for 20 bucks. It's off a tacoma and doesn't fit perfectly (had to raise it with 2x4's) but for 20 bucks I could care less. It's only going to be put on when I go camping.

It was immediately inhabited by birds...

Never put off ‘til tomorrow what you can put off indefinitely
Ive always prefered a calander to start on monday, I consider sunday to be the last day of the week.
Just a matter of philosophy. It all starts with Him, and we seek His help and guidance in what we do, or, we tank Him and ask His forgiveness for our slips at the end. A matter of faith, yes/no?

It gets the job done and meets your needs. That’s all that matters.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I actually bought another one for 50 bucks first but it was way too narrow so now that one is inhabited by a goat... so FYI caps for 92 and earlier rangers DO NOT FIT on 93+ beds!

I helped the guy pull my topper off a 94, it fits my ‘85 fine.

I think it works going backwards in years, but not forward in years lol. Or the guy lied about what it came off of. The internal bed size appears the same on all years but the later bed sides themselves are wider. From the inside it was perfect but on the outside it didn't even cover the stake pocket holes. I could have used it but I found the other one for 20 bucks and it was the perfect width so I said screw it.

The first one was about 57" wide, the second one was about 60" wide. 60" is perfect for my 2009. Both were the right length (about 75").

my side racks fit between the 92 I had and the 94 I have now.
Lately Ive seen a couple full-size 8’ caps for cheap, Ive thought about getting them & using them along with some pvc pipe & aluminum siding from a mobile home to build a small shed for mowers.
