Made the mistake of parking under a tree...

For 2 weeks.

Washed off 30 tons of bird poop.

@scotts90ranger - yours a 2.3 lima? Ive had issues with every 2.3 Ive ever had getting temp up, with every new part I could buy. Blocking off rad helps, just watch it when it gets warm out, they will overheat- eventually.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Yessir, I'm used to the low coolant temp on the gauge, that's normal, the '90 has been like that for the last 20 years I've had it (with I think 3 different engines now) but it always has had good heat output, unless below freezing fan off floor/defrost will bake you out of the thing without turning the blend door some. On the '97 it runs cool but the heater output is not warm, under 50F it is enough to defrost the windows and take the chill off but gets cooler with more heater fan in both heater output and coolant temp.

I'm assuming it's heater core plugged inside and outside, coolant looked old and rusty when I got it and there was a lot of mouse nest junk in the dash... Heater core is the one job I was hoping I didn't have to do to this thing, would have rather had the '89-94 dash, that's a half beer job if you take your time... I pulled the heater fan months ago I think and didn't find anything in the fan.

Drained the transmission. Clean the crust off the pan and painted it with rubberized undercoating.

Also, drained the coolant.

Probably put the new fluids in tomorrow.

Pulled the red Ranger out of my backyard to discover a fuel leak, pulled the bed and cobbled up a repair to the leaking line. Used the little bit of rubber line I had on hand plus a piece of aluminum line that I bulged the ends. Still have to fix a cracked leaf spring but hoping to have it on the road by the end of the week

Ranger got the day off. Drove it to church and back like a little old lady.

The B2 got worked though. Moved three of my grandfather's tractors from his place to mine. A POS MTD built Huskee that I'm going to try and trade for a Sears Custom7, and two late 60s-ish JD 110s that be bought as a lot at an auction. Not sure what his plan was, except to restore at least one of the Deers, so I'm gonna try to make at least one functioning law tractor out of them.

I broke in my hitch, which I’ve had for years but don’t think I’ve ever used before. All my trailers weigh >1 ton and I usually pull them with the ‘66 Dodge. I pulled a small trailer with some furniture and other junk about 300 miles home from my house in Alabama.

RF tire is starting to separate but I limped it home the last 10 miles or so. It’s a 2 year old Hankook with 5/32” left.

degreased/cleaned, and painted several parts of motor, frame rails and new calibers. cut stock front coils, installed 5.0 motor mounts, a-arms, tierods and shocks. had to order some seals for wheel bearings before i can finish up the front susp.
yall prefer to or not use any sealer (copper spray etc) on gaskets when assembling the 5.0?
