Dropped the fuel tank, washed it off prior to fuel pump upgrade and finished installing the rear sway bar.

No tree in my yard big enough, and the garage won't work, too much crap in it and only a 8.5 ft ceiling. I have thought of buying a harbor freight engine hoist tho....

AJ
Well, shucks.

My work today wasn't as cool as some of you others, but I fixed the parasitic draw problem that was killing my battery.

My credo
Race it - Break it - Fix it - Repeat
Oil and filter and spark plugs changed today. Still gotta check the valve lash before we go racing and that's only eight days away.

Worked on pulling motors. Well, two entire drivetrains. Back at it again tomorrow. And Sunday. Doing this all by yourself in a gravel driveway sucks, lol

Bottom plates are welded into bumper so the basic shell is in one piece.

Also moved the parking brake cable mount, test fit the cables and put the correct bolts in the sway bar end links.

finally replaced the rear shocks. I now have brand new Billstiens on all four corners. also replaced the fuel filler neck, I can now fill up without peeing out half a gallon of gas when the tank is full.

original rear shocks, 193k, 23 years old with rusted through boots. still had pressure in them.

I put a new 1/0 gauge wire going from the negative terminal to the frame.
Im still getting slow cranks.... maybe I need to go over the grounds again. It only started when I relocated the battery to the box.

So if the truck sits for a while like a few hours or over night it cranks just fine. If I go to the gas station or the store and shut it off for a few minutes then go to restart. It cranks slow or acts like the battery is near dead.... but after a few turns of the key it will finally fire, you know the whine of a starter or solenoid when the battery is really low....

Guess I will cookie wheel those 4 spots I have grounds.

Replaced my mirror with one that has a functioning auto darkening option, test fit a cb radio and wired up the new fuel sender.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Heres one article. There are others. I think I wrote something about it in my build thread also.

Now if I could do something about those the side mirrors, has anyone used tinting on them, successfully?
