For something as menial as a filter relocation kit, I'd just do it. The magnuson moss act has you covered. The ONLY reason warranty coverage would be denied with your relocation kit is if the dealer can PROVE it was said filter relocation that caused the failure.
You may be right and even though I have a great relationship with my local dealer's service and parts department, I don't trust any of them when it comes to warranties. If they can find a way to get out of it, they will. Not to mention I've had some shoddy warranty work done in the past. Not by this dealer or this manufacturer but the sentiment remains none the less. Especially since they found the most difficult and expensive way to do the repair. It wasn't on my dime but they could have done the repair much easier and quicker if they had just replaced the readily available bushings instead or replacing the entire lower trailing arm. An then not bled the brakes after they completed the work. All of that could have been avoided if they had just replaced the bushings while the trailing arms were mounted to the vehicle. I did it myself another vehicle. It wasn't that hard and was done with hand tools. In a dealer equipped shop, it should have been a piece of cake. No fuss, no muss.
Now see what you did? You made me rant! LOL
On a lighter note. I was finally able to give the 2019 a good bath and waxing. So, now both trucks are done. All that is left is the roller skate.
