☹☹

I took the trailer off The Road Ranger and played musical vehicles. My next focus is going to be the Lincolns and my F250 which have been neglected.

But when I moved the trailer away from the truck, I found this

IMG_2612.jpeg

Driver brake lens popped out somewhere along the trip. I had an extra pair, but they are a slightly different pattern, so I’m saving them for whatever project, and I just took an old-fashioned tractor-trailer type lens, shaved the edge so it would fit in the bezel, and glued in with some shoe glue. Of course, temporary.

I’ll either replace both with the pair I’ve got, or maybe buy a new one online hoping it will match either set.

it never ends….

The wrap-around window on the front of that cap is nearly too awesome to be understood. Nice find!
Actually 2 separate windows. It splits in the middle but I agree!

Ordered a Gentex 177 compass/temp mirror with harness for my Ranger.
Also unloaded a rebuilt 2.3L, bored 0.030 over at my buddy's shop. Engine is supposed to have only 25k on it. I am going to pull the head to inspect the valves and pull the oil pan to inspect the bearings. If everything looks good, my current engine that drinks more oil than gas will soon be getting replaced.

Set the Shadow camper shell on it yesterday evening. My favorite feature is the sliding glass on my back window and the shell! With the shell it’s taller than my F250 and it barely clears the 83” height limit at crew car wash so this ol girl will be a hand washer. Got driveshafts coming soon - easy does it.
you probably need to adjust that door a little bit towards the right, towards the rear, maybe up a little higher.

What’s your color scheme and painting plan? Or is that already in place. You have a very interesting canvas to start with, I think you could do something really cool

Rumbled into town to put gas in it for the car show this weekend. Someone was chirping for a slushie so I pulled up by the door after taking on fuel and did that. Noticed a maybe highschool/college kid eyeing it as I was in the checkout line which while rare is kinda neat.

Step outside and slushie guy blurts out "look a Jeep!" and of course points to the plain jane 110% bone stock JK Wrangler Sport getting gas. Lady pumping gas of course has to look at who is yelling about her jeep.

Someday I will go back with the OG walnut metallic brown but until I've practiced enough or have sufficient funds to outsource a paint job then I will go rattle can camo since this will be a hunting rig.

are wranglers rare there?

they are pretty much the mascot of the town i live in. you can't look down a street without seeing two or three each direction.

All over the place. Especially stock ones.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
It's the perspective of the little kid. He sees things with different priorities and interests.

I remember when I was really little, for some reason, my grandfather liked to point out Mustangs to me when we encountered them on the road. I didn't understand the significance of the Mustang. I was 3 or 4 or 5 years old. But Mustangs became special because grandpa always drew my attention to them. Keep in mind, I was born in 1964, just like the Mustang. The muscle car era was in its infancy. I just didn't know that until I got older.

Oliver is growing up in a family that has tractors and Rangers and Broncos and offroading and seeing Jeeps is a big part of his world.

mustangs were the same for me. those original 64-66 mustangs are the car to have.

my kids grew up in jeeps and the older 3 series bmw, the e30s. so that is the cars to them. both have had jeeps and e30s and still want them. (thats why there are two 84 318i in the driveway right now)

First drive with the AC working properly. I suspect the only problem with my vacuum was that sphere. Not only did I replace it with the bigger can, I also didn’t mount it to the pulley and belt this time.

I went down to Harbor freight and bought $40 worth of crap I don’t need.

I know you guys are into more horsepower and climbing over boulders, but down here in Atlanta, AC that works is the way to go. I’m not sure Lincoln agrees, he likes barking out the windows.

same here, ac is way better than lifts and tires. sitting in 113 degree humidity sucks, even with a lift and tires

11:30 the night before the car show where my class can't even win anything... and here I sit cleaning my steering wheel.
