Well keep it in mind for when you grenade some gears in the ranger lol
Currently all three of my Rangers are geared 3.73, which worked well for my 3.0 with a manual transmission and 30” tires and for my 92 with the 4.0 and auto with a shift kit with 30” tires and it’s acceptable with the AWD 5.0 on 31” tires. I’m sure my 5.0 will be happier when I change tires and rims (just as soon as I can afford to) which will be 18” rims and 29-30” tires. My 88 Bronco II has 3.73s too.

AOR Bumpers?

Just do it...

Buy the front skid plate too.

Cut outs for lights... your choice... but I didnt.

I cut my own holes for the rear flush mounts.

I also opted to build my own tire carrier...
Yeah I’m gonna go all out, been saving for a while now so I can afford both bumpers and the skid plate

I think I’m leaning towards light cutouts, because it would be cool to keep the functionality of my OE fog light button with some pod fog lights

With all this talk about gears and 30 inch tires, I thought I’d share that I put a new set of wheels and tires on the front of the step trailer. 10 inchers! See my build thread on the Road Ranger. I already wish I got 12 inchers or 13 inchers….

It’s not the size of the magicians blonde, it’s the magic with which he waves it…

😜😂

My round amber floods run off the factory switch.

You will like the bumpers... they do good work.

Annoyingly I found the outer wheel bearing race had apparently spun on the '90, for a long while... I pulled the center punch a whole bunch around then press the race back in and it was still free floating... so I red loctited it in place, wish I had some sleeve retainer but didn't have any in stock... at that point I switched to mowing the lawn for a while to let that set up... I do have extra rotors but that involves extra steps that are different...

I did get the new spindle bearing installed, spindle is installed as well, annoyingly I found the inner axle shaft seal leaks since there's now a puddle of gear oil on the floor... apparently I'm going to get a seal tomorrow to fix that while it's apart...

Another question- did you paint them yourself, or did you opt for the factory powder coat?

I got mine bare... made no sense to get them powder coated for me.

One more thing. They make heavy duty rear bumper brackets. They're worth the extra coin if the rear bumper still doesn't come with them. I think the rear with the tire carrier does. You may want to ask if interested.

I got a rear a few years ago, un painted. Got the heavier gauge metal. Welded my own clevis mounts in, so it made more sense to buy it base steel.

If it has two heads, it better have more than six cylinders.
Found out the early 2.3 intake manifold won’t fit an 8 plug head.

putzin in the garage doing anything to get some progress.

According to the website the rears all come standard with the clevis mounts now.

That’s what I’m gonna do, just wanted input. I want to be able to touch up or even completely repaint if I need to, versus powder coat where you can’t really do that.
Also good to know about the brackets, I’ll shoot AOR an email and ask.

And I’m going to assume, based off of the pictures, that the AOR rear bumper works with a hitch, correct?

I don't have a hitch... but was told that bumper was hitch compatible.

What I'm not sure about is if the HD brackets are hitch compatible.

You should probably inquire with them about all of it.
