Checked with NHRA Tech and found I can only delete the back braces if I had a full cage. That means I've got to bend up two struts to go through the top of the rear window, go up 45° to the main hoop then down through the bed floor to the frame. My mistake - sorry.

Well, I’ll probably regret that I didn’t rest today, but I dragged out the hose and flushed the block, heater core, oil cooler and radiator today on the green Ranger, blew out as much water as possible with air, dumped some full strength coolant in everything but the radiator (it’s in the parents garage until it’s time to go in), put the water pump and thermostat housings on and a couple little things. So more progress

Guy at the shop got two wheels of the forklift stuck in the grass today. He seemed to think it has a posi, even with the completely smooth tires.

5k forklift, so probably weighed close to 10k.

Tied it to the receiver of the ranger with a lifting strap and pulled it out.

Maybe it’s the little man syndrome speaking, but let’s see the 4x4 diesel or die bastards laugh at that.

10k lbs, mired to tire depth (75% pull), on only 2 tires (50% pull) would amount to about a dead weight of 3,750 lbs.

I forgot to add in the weight on the other 2 tires. That would be 5% of the total weight, and only 2 tires (50%)… so add another 250 lbs.

You pulled the equivalent of 4,000 lbs of dead weight.

Ordered some new plastic pucks for the leaf springs. The old ones are about to leave the chat and are pretty worn. They were surprisingly pretty cheap for a pack of 12.

Hopefully my 5/8” tubing bender shows up tomorrow so I can get the heater core lines bent up. No progress today.

Gonna try hitting up another junkyard tomorrow to see about a driveshaft for the F-150

ordered the cheapest front drive shaft Rockauto had for my 2000.
flared some brake lines for the 2005s rear axle, the Eastwood turret tool works great.
put the cover back on the same axle, only finger tight so the sealant can set up before final tightening.

If you’re talking of the lever and turret tool for flaring lines, I agree, wish I would have bought one many years ago. I got the 37* set for -AN too, waaay easier and faster than the common cheap screw type

Nothing to the Ranger yesterday and today is a rest day. Did way more than I should have and crashed out without eating dinner last night because I was so tired and miserable. It was ribs last night too. But I did search for a driveshaft for the F-150 yesterday and the one yard that had three of them managed to fold them all in half with the loader.

The one place I find them and they destroy them…

Also pulled down a big cherry tree with the F-150. No cutting involved.

Tube bender showed up yesterday so maybe I can get the heater lines bent now. Also got the fuel bowl for the tractor.

I was gonna joke, "Yeah, just in time for winter!", but I see you're in Florida. You need A/C in southern Florida year-round.

In the 1980s I visited Cape Canaveral in mid–November to see the space stuff. It was so hot and humid I was dripping sweat waiting outside at Spaceport USA for the tour bus to visit the Air Force base.

Spent the day putting a exhaust on the ranger, manifold to final pipe. Its very quiet now, has never been this quiet. Can actually hear the power steering pump whine now.
