What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Installed a set of window vents on my truck. Always wanted some. Got the kind that tuck up in the weatherstripping instead of on the outside of the door frame.

They fit really well and look decent, so we will see how well they work driving to work tomorrow.

I have that same set on my green Ranger and a set like that on my red 92. Really like having them, my F-150 has stainless window vents and somewhere I have a stainless set for my 88. Even put a set on the GFs car. I like being able to crack the windows in the rain or just in the summer to vent some of the heat when it’s parked

You’ll like them. If you have a rear slider, you’ll love them even more.

My dad's 1992 Silverado had the type that mounted on the outside of the door using an adhesive strip (yes, on the paint). Note I said "had". One peeled off in pieces after however many years last year and the other is doing the same now. Tucking them inside the upper weatherstripping looks like a better way.

I used my Ranger as a workbench when I changed the headlight bulbs on my Buick Lucerne. That task involved removing the front bumper cover which also involved removing the front wheels to remove the inner fender liners. All to change freaking burned out low beam bulb. Ended up changing every bulb in each assembly. 10 bulbs in all at about 65 bucks so I don't have to remove the front of the car again

30 years for some double sided tape isn’t too bad I guess. Lol

Yeah, it doesn’t take me long of driving a vehicle before I want them on it. I don’t even smoke cigarettes and it doesn’t matter if the A/C works. I want the vents. Once you have a set, you’ll likely want them on everything.

It is and isn’t a better way. It’s great, right up until one gets broken. It is, without a doubt, a pain to remove the broken one from the weatherstrip and clean it up enough to put a new set on. I went through that with my 92.

My first Ranger (blue 00) I put GTS branded vents on, they stuck to the paint but they were also more than 1/8” thick, which made them super durable. By necessity, the ones that mount inside the weatherstripping are paper thin. Still, both my 92 and green 00 plus I think both of dad’s have them inside the weatherstripping

i used the ones that sticky tape to the paint on my 98 camry. they were great but one came loose a year later at the back and slowly worked itself loose all the way. we tried to reattach it with better tape as it was slowly coming off but nothing worked.

i ordered a set for the ranger and a set for my son's focus.

you know what is funny that i saw while looking at the vents? if you go to the avs site and are looking up stuff for your vehicle, they sell stick on hood vents. like the ones you would think would be from amazon or the local autoparts place. and they look like stick on hood vents so it looks hilarious to go from bug deflectors and visors to hood vents

Removed the roof racks from both trucks now that the shed roof has finally been repaired. I can't remember if I had mentioned it here before or not but a tree limb had come down and bent the crap out of the shed roof after we had a bad bought of freezing rain last winter. Thus why the shed roof needed to be repaired.

Should probably just ditch the Fiat and plop that bad boy the ‘ole ferd instead.

But I still use the tailgate and this doesn't seem like it would work well with it
