Put on tires, a shifter and a new ecm. Now the temp gauge is fluctuate so much I’m afraid to drive it. Gonna go pick up new temp sensors in a few and pray that fixes it! Everything else is new but I didn’t do the head gaskets. The guy I bought it from did. I found quite a few things that he did incorrectly and I’m really hoping he didn’t screw up the head gaskets!!!

Just the right size to touch the ground.

That's sound logic.

Make sure the cooling system doesn't have an air pocket in it.

Thanks guys! So I installed a manual temp gauge and it showed a fluctuation of 10 deg or so, 190-200 deg. Then I shut the hood and pinched the temp gauge’s wire which caused it to completely stop working.

Changed the tailgate cables on the '90 tonight, much better, the tailgate got a little tweaked since I was unloading a ~400lb 4 wheeler when the one side broke... it's just a little tweaked, not bad...

I was going to fix the center console "stuff" cubby lid but I couldn't find any wood toothpicks at the house... I have a box at work for whatever reason so I'll bring some home tomorrow...

I put a custom ranger vinyl decal on my tailgate today. Got it on eBay $10 shipped... I chose the font and size etc, from the eBay seller.

I may detail my rear splash guards with white paint. Says Ranger on them, but you can't really see it.

Put the roof racks on both Rangers to clear up space in the shed for the roof repair.

Not mine, but a family friend brought his Explorer over, thought the ignition switch was going bad, turned out the control arm thing in the steering column was broken. So, an Explorer dad and I stripped a few years back for parts donated it’s steering column for the cause

Finished up installing the DJM lower arms. Got the drop I’ve been wanting, but the camber and toe are way out now. Replaced the bearings and rotors while I was at it. Threw on some new camber bolts as well. But with every new suspension component, the weakness of the worn out parts are magnified. Ended up ordering new inner and outer tie rods, and some new upper a-arms just in case.

I need to hurry up and get the truck done so I can get to work on the daily Accord: new struts and lowering springs, stainless steel braided brake lines, new wheels and tires.

I completely forgot toothpicks at work, just realized there's a few bottle rockets sitting next to me, so I'll so that tomorrow morning :)

Backed the '90 out of the shop for now

Last weekend the drivers door started to do an auto lock feature every time you open it (no power anything... it's just worn out...) so I either need to get in there and regrind a detent, add a light spring holding the lock linkage up (I do have a pot metal handle on it that's been there for 20 years), or go to a junkyard and find a fresher door latch (or new replacement maybe)

Took this sweet whip into town to get breakfast yesterday.

I just think that 4x4 hub sticking out of the low profile mustang wheels is funny.

Real calendar photo there.

I drilled a hole in the center cap when I had that type setup on my B4000 some years ago. The hole drill for making the hole in a door for the door latch is just the right size for the center hub, and the only trick is getting that hold drilled in the middle of the center cap. If I find a pic, I will post it.

Drove it out into the desert to exercise some of my hounds. The new tires are pretty stiff, they’re load range E and I’m running 20 psi. I may drop that another 5 and see how it rides. They aren’t broke in yet which has a lot to do with it, also. It’s got a bad connection with the charging system and sometimes stops charging. I wiggled the connections and pulled the exciter wire out until it felt secure and didn’t have as much play. We’ll see how that works. It’s a lot of fun to drive now with the newer ecm! Tons of power. Enough that I can spin the 33’s on the pavement and I even have a locker!
