Didn’t get to working on the Ranger, was tinkering with the chainsaws until it started raining after a rough morning. Wanted to get the carb information to order some rebuild kits to have on hand and ended up getting more involved, lol. Think they are going to end up with a little extra. Want to get a full chisel chain for the big Craftsman and tune it a little. It’s a beast as it is, despite being made by Poulan, but I think it could be a little better. The little Stihl I want to get tuned up and go to a side adjuster for the chain. Also need to figure out why sawdust is getting past the air filter.

Tentativily fixed my hard cold start issue. Noticed earlier this week when it doesn't want to start it doesn't act like the choke is set. Last time I jumped out, manually moved the throttle lever on the carb and it fired right off. So I did the right thing and threw another ziptie on the throttle cable at the pedal.

Cold started beautiful like it normally does. Rumbled it into town and kind of took part in a RBV takeover...

Changed oil in the ‘07, went from Mobil 1to Pennzoil Platinum. Scraped some on the mating surfaces of the spare M5OD. I’d ordered a FSM CD to help reassemble it, but it was sent in a flexible mailer and arrived cracked. Put in an ebay return ticket.

Both good synthetic oils, but out of curiosity, why'd you switch to Pennzoil Platinum?

"Both good synthetic oils, but out of curiosity, why'd you switch to Pennzoil Platinum?"

Recommendation by a former member plus reading about oil testing on Bob is the Oil Guy. :)

I'm a member of BITOG too, same member ID as I use here. In fact, that site uses the same forum software as this site.

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
(one year ago) today I went in the woods with the gang.

I gotta stay home and finish up the swap. Spring fever is taking hold and its hard to wrench after work.
Man, I miss subarus sometimes. I lifted all the ones I had and took them places they weren't intended to go. Now they sell off-roady ones right from the factory.

Not gonna lie, one of those truck looking ones with long travel would be kinda cool.

Last time I went to the offroad park I saw an older forester on one ton axles and 40" tires crawling over a bunch of boulders. Still kicking myself over not getting a GOD DAMN PICTURE

This would be a sweet ride with a long travel kit.

Yesterday I picked up a shifter with a 2wd shifter boot, a tunnel cover, the shifter insulation and an ecm all from that 95 explorer. I’m gonna have to find the wiring diagrams for both the 91 explorer and the 95 explorer so I can re-pin the 91 harness to match the 95 ecm. That’s if the 91 harness will plug into the 95 ecm…

The guy I bought the parts from was a piece of work! A 20 sumthin year old kid who was obviously loaded. After we agreed on the price, I had to run to a atm and when I came back, he was standing by the driver door of the explorer, half asleep and drooling. I don’t know much about drugs but I think it was a heavy depressant. Maybe heroin or other opioid.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!

That’s when you hand him half the agreed money, say “here’s the other half”, load up your stuff, and leave. If he’s that messed up, he won’t realize it until your gone. :icon_rofl:
