Not mine, but a family friend brought his Explorer over, thought the ignition switch was going bad, turned out the control arm thing in the steering column was broken. So, an Explorer dad and I stripped a few years back for parts donated it’s steering column for the cause

Finished up installing the DJM lower arms. Got the drop I’ve been wanting, but the camber and toe are way out now. Replaced the bearings and rotors while I was at it. Threw on some new camber bolts as well. But with every new suspension component, the weakness of the worn out parts are magnified. Ended up ordering new inner and outer tie rods, and some new upper a-arms just in case.

I need to hurry up and get the truck done so I can get to work on the daily Accord: new struts and lowering springs, stainless steel braided brake lines, new wheels and tires.

I completely forgot toothpicks at work, just realized there's a few bottle rockets sitting next to me, so I'll so that tomorrow morning :)

Backed the '90 out of the shop for now

Last weekend the drivers door started to do an auto lock feature every time you open it (no power anything... it's just worn out...) so I either need to get in there and regrind a detent, add a light spring holding the lock linkage up (I do have a pot metal handle on it that's been there for 20 years), or go to a junkyard and find a fresher door latch (or new replacement maybe)

Took this sweet whip into town to get breakfast yesterday.

I just think that 4x4 hub sticking out of the low profile mustang wheels is funny.

Real calendar photo there.

I drilled a hole in the center cap when I had that type setup on my B4000 some years ago. The hole drill for making the hole in a door for the door latch is just the right size for the center hub, and the only trick is getting that hold drilled in the middle of the center cap. If I find a pic, I will post it.

Drove it out into the desert to exercise some of my hounds. The new tires are pretty stiff, they’re load range E and I’m running 20 psi. I may drop that another 5 and see how it rides. They aren’t broke in yet which has a lot to do with it, also. It’s got a bad connection with the charging system and sometimes stops charging. I wiggled the connections and pulled the exciter wire out until it felt secure and didn’t have as much play. We’ll see how that works. It’s a lot of fun to drive now with the newer ecm! Tons of power. Enough that I can spin the 33’s on the pavement and I even have a locker!

Took the '97 with a small trailer to do truck stuff, with the current gas prices it was the most economical between me and my brother... he had gotten some stuff from an online auction about 30 miles away (one of them a Ditch Witch trencher, had to be 500 lb with the 9hp propane Wisconsin engine on it...), then while over there picked up some stuff from my buddies house that I loaned him last year (jumping jack compactor, chain harrow, spike harrow and yard roller). The ol 2.3L didn't like accelerating to highway speed, but it's nice having the two piston calipers on the front brakes...

Confirmed the water leaks were fixed in the cap for the 2019 while driving it to the Cleveland area in the rain yesterday. All fixed. Just need to address a slight leak that I think is coming from around the tailgate. The new Rangers don’t come with the rubber flaps that seal off the bed around the tailgate sides like the older Rangers did.

I may detail my rear splash guards with white paint. Says Ranger on them, but you can't really see it.
I did this to mine and it really dresses up the rear. I used a tire marker to turn the Ranger white against the black mud flaps.

Cool, Is the tire marker a white paint pen?

Yes, although the paint is different than a standard paint pen.
I just saw a medium point white Sharpie oil based paint pen at Michaels for $5.00. I think I'm gonna grab it tomorrow and highlight my Ranger mudflaps with it.. Thanks

Changed the oil in the '97 tonight, I think I even did it when I meant to? It's just before 180k, I think I did it at 175k last time? would help if I wrote it down somewhere...

Just remembered I bought some wood glue at the store on the way home, might go screw on the lid to the center console on the '90 here in a bit...

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
I put gas in mine.

Some of you may think that’s not a big deal, but I rarely drive it. I drive it so little in fact, that I didn’t even put gas in it last year. So yes, it’s actually a big deal.
