Do you push the A/C button to turn the lights on? :p That’d actually be pretty neat

I pulled the wiper arms this week and repainted them. Flat is too flat for OEM look. It’s probably supposed to be semi gloss or one notch flatter than that.

When I painted mine a few years ago I think I used a satin or semigloss. they turned out pretty good.

That would be connector C278 in this diagram. With fuse #7 installed, you should have 12v on the red/yellow wire with key on. Ground on the black wire. The rest is pretty useless without the rest of the 4x4
system.

Thanks Erik. Now I'm thinking of tying into the cigarette lighter circuits. I'll have both there. The lighter is constant + the ashtray is illuminated.

Red one has still been stumbling on heavy acceleration, picked up a Delphi sender at Napa on my lunch break. I’m going to hold on to the chicom sender and save it, that way if I have a failure in the future I can swap the pump the extra sender and just swap the whole thing out, save some time.

I spent the last 2 days off and on cleaning the transfer case prepping it for paint. Got it painted plus the transfercase skid plate and the engine mounts
Is that skidplate factory? I swear I remember seeing a skidplate under an fx4 once.... I have been checking junkards ever since with no luck.

the grey-t escape
Been towing alot lately, both the escape & the ranger have been working hard. The escape mainly has the box trailer and the ranger has the flatbed hitched up to it. Im about 90% moved now. The back deck is just the right height, back up to it like a loading dock, at the old place Ive been using a 7ft peice of 3/4 plywood as a loading ramp with ploy car ramps underneath it for support. Rainy day today, might just focus on putting stuff away.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Little display of my upholstery deep cleaning. Not the ranger btw, customer car. Im not done with the vehicle, the seats are literally the first thing i do just in case there is areas that need addressed once they dry.

Again, im not done with the car lol. First lay down a heafty soaking of dawn dish soap, degreaser concentrate (i like purple power), steam cleaner solution, and stain lifter (i like shout). Scrub it in with a nylon brush on a drill. Let soak. Go over it with a carpet cleaner full of straight water. Repeat until stains are gone. Followed by tuff stuff, brush it in, carpet clean it out. I usually put a little liquid new car smell in the carpet cleaner for the last round. Works every time if you have the patience.
Awesome, this saves the hassle of having to make a thread asking the best way to deep clean seats lol. Thanks!

The skid plate is from an Explorer but there are predrilled holes in the ranger frame for it I have another identical one I got from a b2. I think it was an option rarely equipped on rangers.

l today I recieved the transfercase shift linkage kindly provided by @tw205. I guess I should have test fit it before I made it look great.

Why am I having such a hard time finding the right shifter, this is closer than the one I had, was there never a 1350 manual shift behind an m50d, is this my issue. No blame on tw205 as far as we knew it should have fit. Does anyone have any idea if the shifter I need exists. Should I just give up and use the 1354 elec.shift

Mine from a 86 Ranger doesn't have the ribs, I wonder when they were added.

I feel so bad. Even if I didn’t charge you for it. That sucks. 85-Ranger4x4 is right. Here’s a 1350 and it’s lever is removable. I have the M50D with a BW1350 on my other rig I think the M50D is an inch shorter than the FM146 but it’s in the body not the tail shaft your transfer case shifter must have been modified

I was going the other way putting a A4LD prepped 1350 onto a 83-84 C5.

I see it now. The shifter I gave you is for an A4LD. Automatic transmission. The bosses for the shifter are further forward than the manual transmissions? The shaft going to the transfer case is only slightly offset. The manual trans shifter it dog legged. See it? And on the shaft it says A4LD.
