Rain-x my windows and wipers today since I washed my truck yesterday; these damn love bugs are going to drive me nuts. Also went to a jobsite I've been working for a while now and may have found a boat I may try buying so that's a plus.

I definitely hear you about the love bugs.

I put on a new set of wiper blades myself and hooked up a 14 foot enclosed trailer to help the stepson move him and his family to their new house.

I stopped using the wipe on Rain-X and went to the Rain-X washer fluid. It works quite well.

It's been about 6mo. since I stopped using the Ranger as a daily driver, and I've gotten used to driving a light car with some performance. Since it was winter I had sand bags in the truck for much of that time, and didn't drive it much anyway. Yesterday I had to go meet my wife somewhere and then followed her home - it was chilly but bright and dry, and she was driving her Fiesta ST. I forgot how much snot that Ranger has, and how well it handles for something that high! Lol, it can't match an ST, but it's damn surprising what it can do and how nice it is to drive. I'm still impressed with the little truck, automatic and all.

Today? Rotated the tires and discovered that the wheel bearing and seal in the rear that I replaced not long ago is leaking. SMH. Pretty sure it’s going to stay leaking and I’m just going to change the axle at this point.

Spent the rest of the afternoon working on the girlfriend’s car, fixed the exhaust leak, the rattle going over bumps, and an oil change. Then I grilled dinner for mom.

The windex wiper fluid works great but I'll have to try the rain-x stuff.

I use the rain X additive with the cheapest crappy washer fluid I can find. I think the additive with crap fluid works better than the actual rain X washer fluid. Plus the additive is only 5 bucks and makes 5 gallons of fluid. :dunno:

I hadn't seen that yet, but I'll give it a try. The pre-mixed Rain-X fluid refreshes the coating every time you give it a squirt, and doesn't seem to leave that smeary coating the wipe-on stuff turns into after a while.

Thats exactly what the additive does too. You can just squirt your windsheild for a couple seconds when its raining and it puts enough of a coating on to keep the water beading right off. Combined with some piaa silicone wipers you can drive through a hurricane with the wipers barely on.

Additive I have found doesn't seem to work as well as the fluid and why I just buy the rain-x fluid now. I've used all three and like the fluid so much better than the other two options.

It probably makes a difference that I use 2-3 times the recommended amount of the additive lol. I think it says 4 oz per gallon but I just dump half the bottle in... :dunno:
