Wash and wax shoulda been yesterday here... it was a beautiful day. Today was gloomy and been in the low 40's... damn furnace ran most of the day.

I was too busy building a new firewood rack but yes, yesterday would have been a great day to wash and wax a truck. One rack down, one to go. Then I'll have a nice pair or racks.

I'll wait. :giggle:

Come clean mine...

I need to do a serious garage cleaning/re-organize/garage sale. Three car garage and could only park the wife's Escape in it.

Took off the driver's side door and (rattle can) spray painted it. Filled in two small dings and now also the damage from where a rubber strip used to be is gone. Color is an almost perfect match with the original paint on the rest of the body - Colonial white. Need to wet sand and polish the clearcoat a bit but very pleased with the result. Got the paint and clearcoat from PaintScratch.com. Not cheap but good quality.

Got the '90 back on the road, new parking brake shoes (still need to tighten them, my guess was wrong when the rear was off the ground... I'll work on that later), axle shaft seals and finished the grizzly install. The locker clicking is gone and doesn't ratchet doing a U turn on pavement now (I'm sure it'll do it's thing at some point).

I now get to concentrate on trying to get it to retain more of it's engine oil... it's better than it was at it's worst, but it's coming out of new areas now...

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Did you wrap the valve body in a cloth and beat it against the concrete a few times? It's been years since I messed with a C4, but that was basically a requirement of a rebuild back then. LOL
No, I actually took it apart and polished all the valves and bores. I also left out the "hockey puck" accumulator to increase the shift pressure more quickly. The last automatic transmission I rebuilt before this one was in January 1982 but I built so many C4's before that I only needed the manual for torque specs..On February 7th of 82 I became the service manager.

Getting ready to put the insides back together. But first that seat has to come back out. Thinking about going back with a full bench seat when I get the automatic/5.0 installed.

Just the right size to touch the ground.
Who has a line on a cheap but functional water-meth injection setup? I may need one in a few weeks.
