I'm catching up. I'm over 65k now. I still use the M1-102 filter with the Mobil1 full synthetic. What's the advantages of the bigger filter? I change my oil every 5k. Haven't noticed a super nasty filter or experienced any issues. Just curious.
1. It's bigger.
2. It's easier to reach because it's bigger.

I've got this little claw like adjustable filter wrench that I just throw a 12" extension on. Wished I could get the damn drain pan in the right place. I've got like 6 different spots in my driveway where I miss haha

Same. It's still easier getting the longer filter off. I replaced the plastic pins with neodymium magnets from Amazon. Sandwich the flap between three pair of them with a dab of Gorilla Glue on each one.

Same. Today was especially messy.

I need to do the magnet thing. I worry that I'd lose them in deep mud and fast water. I'm a little rougher on my truck than most.

I lost two early on but none since I added the Gorilla Glue. Sandwich the flap between two of them in three spots across the flap about where the plastic clips were and a little dab of Gorilla Glue on each magnet.

Getting an early start on winterizing since I’m getting a knee replacement, #2, in two weeks. This is a box I built out of scrap wood last year to cover the sand bags and hold them in place.
