Crazy how the rear bumpers are only a few inches different, but the bed sides are a foot at least.

This is the main reason that I am actually looking forward to the new Maverick. There is still a market for a sub $30,000 truck. It does not have to be able to do heavy off-roading, or tow 15,000 pounds, or have 700hp. I don't need to haul a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed, I just need an open space to put stuff that I would not be able to fit in an SUV, or be able to carry without damage the interior of the SUV.

For instance- I have a hobby of repairing snowblowers. I have been finding quite a few at the curb lately, for free. I would not be able to fit them in the back of an SUV, but they can go right in the bed of my Ranger and get tied down and brought home.

It's like the Jeep's you see around town with a lift and 37" mud tires. You know 95% of the time they are on blacktop anyway.

Don't get me wrong, the new Ranger doesn't look bad, it's just not for me.

Rant over, my apologies.

I want a new Ranger, an old Ranger, AND a new Maverick. Wouldn't mind a 4th gen SHO Taurus either. But wanting an needing are two different things

Why, yes I do.
The '99 Ranger has been an amazing truck. 270K on the clock and everything works (A/C, CD, AM/FM, cassette, power windows). The only item that is not factory are the front locking hubs. The vacuum lines developed leaks so I replaced them with manual lockers. The 4.0L V6 still gets 18 - 20 MPG which is on par with the new turbo 2.3L. The new truck may Improve as I've only got 1,000 miles on the clock.

You could be a bicycle rider. The rule of bike ownership is N+1. N is the number of bikes you currently own and the +1 is the number you need.

I like the smaller one :)
It is certainly easier to wash the smaller one. I'm 6'6" and I need a box to stand on to wash the roof on the new one.

I really appreciate the comparison pics. I've been wanting to see some for a while now. Crazy how big they have gotten.

This is truth. In addition to bicycles, I have so far applied this rule to guns, trucks, and cordless tools as well.

I need a small step ladder myself but I'm 5' 9". Even though the truck is bigger, it isn't so much bigger that there is a learning curve. There is about 6" less clearance in the garage to get around the 2019 compared to the 2011. The bed height and bed side height is a bit annoying but over all, I'm happy with it. I hope you feel the same with yours.
