Can someone tell me what a 1998 Ford Ranger Splash 2wd is worth with a blown up motor?? I’ve found one that has a blown up motor but body and interior is in pretty decent shape. I’m looking to buy to do v8 swap in.

As much as your willing to pay.....I suppose if it’s really nice I might pay upwards of $500, but that’s about it.....I would say anything around scrap value is fair...

Pick-n-Pull would probably pay $700-1K and pick it up to boot. Soooo.......IMHO, anything less than that would be a good deal! .

It depends where you are. In NH anything rust free is like gold. I intended to buy an 83-88 short box 2wd for my project but ended up paying $1500 for a 93 long box with no engine or transmission that had been hacked up and used as a drag truck because it had less surface rust on the chassis than my did. The vendor who sold us used parts would take his trailer to Arizona twice a year and come back with pickup boxes and gas tanks to sell. A new aftermarket tank sometimes fit, a used Arizona tank looked like a dusty new OEM tank.
