I know it's not a ford but all of us here love projects no matter what. Wife's aunt blessed me with this truck. 2000 silverado 1500. Had a blowed up 4.3. Got a donor 5.3 tahoe ringed the motor new rod bearings, btr truck norris cam with valve springs , speed enginerring long tubes, and got a 4l80e for pulling a 6.0 for the guy out of the same van. Goal is get it rurnning and driving and eventually put the 6.0 ho I have in it for a turbo. Put new lights and added a 40k trans cooler, electric cooling fan conversion. I still have some wiring to do but getting close.

You going aftermarket stand alone engine and transmission controls? Or you have the OEM harness and all the computer junk that will fit the new engine and transmission?

Using the harness from the 5.3 it's plug and play into the fuse box. I did however depin and delete rear o2 sensors coolant level sensor and a few other small things just to clean up the harness a little. Bought a harness to swap the 4l60 to 80 harness and gonna have my tuner write the cooling fan and 4l80 tune into the pcm plus other stuff.

Once I get to the point of running the truck I'm gonna have to buy hptuners so I don't have to keep going back to my tuner for small things.

Don't let @lil_Blue_Ford see this, he'll want it in his driveway. He likes unfinished projects.

:stop::buttkick:

I’ve been trying to get stuff finished, I was on task until my concussions and now I’m way behind where I was supposed to be. Besides, that’s not a Ford, I try to only collect Ford projects…

Not just his driveway… also his parents driveway next door.
Ehh, I’m afraid it’s a little more than just mine and my parents, sometimes projects visit my buddy’s place in the city and I’ve also been known to store them at a family friend’s farm, who is the king of unfinished projects (when I met him like 20 years ago he was working on a “show” truck which is still in the exact same state as it was then, just more rust now). :dntknw::black_eye:

I was trying to be nice by only mentioning one other storage location.

Ugh. Maybe give him a break and go find that overachiever neurotic germ freak perfectionist friend lol, balance it out a bit, switch up the influence.
