I have had a couple people say you have to be careful about up grades on the new 2019. That Ford can void your warranty if they won't. Would that just be your dealer, i could see this if you miss with the engine or computer. I bought the five year bumper to bumper warranty. Don't won't to miss that up. but do won't to do some up grades.

Goes for anything, I would wait until the warranty is up before having too much fun.

I would wait until the warranty is up before doing any major upgrades. Anything that affects the performance of the vehicle. Adding a tonnue cover or fiberglass cap, changing the tires, installing new wheels, stuff like that is fine. Suspension or body lifts, installing a locker, regearing the axles, and so on, I would avoid.

Nothing you do that doesn't land you with an R title will void the entire warranty. But some things you do might void certain parts of it, and it is totally at the discretion of the dealer doing the work.

There is a list of certain performance parts in the clean air act that can't be used to void a warranty claim, and the simple presence of aftermarket parts cannot legally be used to void the entire warranty. But if the dealer thinks that some sort of aftermarket modification caused the failure of an original part by placing it under undue stress they can refuse to warranty it (although most won't because they don't want the headache). Also, modifications that replace factory parts will obviously Ford won't cover someone else's part. For example, if you put a suspension lift, and leveling kit on it, and some 35 inch tires, and then the front wheel bearings and upper ball joints fail within the warranty period they are going to argue that the bigger tires and modified suspension geometry places the wheel bearings and ball joints under stresses that the factory configuration wouldn't have, and caused them to fail prematurely, and won't warranty it. IMO they would be correct and justified in doing so.

Or if you lift it 4 inches, and replace the factory shocks with some Bilsteins, and then one of those fail at 30K miles, obviously Ford is not going to buy you a Bilstein shock. You have to take that up with the people you bought them from.

What kind of stuff were you thinking about doing?

I already have rough country leveling kit. A little larger tire like maybe 33's. Exhaust system been looking at borla cat back. And of course bumpers and some lights. I think i'm going to go with a remote control lights set up don't won't to run wires through the fire wall or drill holes for switches. Don't won't to go crazy on it i'll do that with my 99 or 02 rangers. When my son comes over i'll see if he can post some pictures. I don't know how to do that stuff.

Warranty, claims are virtually 100% at the dealer's discretion. If they think they can put it through they do. It is just good business. FORD pays, the customer is thrilled and the service advisor is the hero.

Did some research here on warranty on my new Ranger. Found out there is a company here called Rock-n S accessories. Is owned by the Ford dealer and if you buy your accessories witch are from ford and let them install them the dealer will warranty all parts and labor. They installed my Rough country 2.5 leaving kit that i had already bought for $99.99 . And installation and alignment was $311.00 , had to wait a day for them to get the software to do the alignment. It's worth it to me and not worry about my warranty.
