Awhile back at TRS suggestion, I bought Warn manual locking hubs (Jeep P/N 37780) for my 96 Ranger XLT and they worked great...never had a problem. That truck is now totaled, I'm parting it out and wondering if I should save those hubs for my new 2011 Ranger (Sport, 4.0L, V6, 4WD) at a later date? Do they fit? Has anyone tried this application? I doubt it but was wondering. Thx.

Are there any manual locking hubs for the 2011 Ranger?

I haven't looked extensively but I know on Warn's site you can't even search for any of their products with a 2011 Ford Ranger. There just isn't enough demand for 2011 aftermarket products (and probably a few years prior).

The 2011 does not have locking hubs of any kind, shape or form. It is a live axle design that is always spinning with the wheels. Just the transfercase shifts to 2hi.

Thanks for the info Ryda!!! Much appreciated. So a switch to 4Hi on my 96 Ranger engaged transfer case and locked hubs (before my manuals). And the 2011 front end design is always locked and the switch to 4Hi just engages the transfer case. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thx.

You got it!

The CV shafts are splined directly to the front wheel bearing/hub assembly.

Does the CV Joint configuration get less gas mileage then the U-Joint configuration? The 96 (U-Joint config.) is rated for better gas mileage then the 2011 (CV Joint config.). Is this b/c of the front-end configuration or is the configuration negligible on gas mileage in your opinion?

Pretty negligible. Ford went from locking hubs (vacuum operated) in 98-00 to the live axle design in late 2000 because it was way more reliable and the difference in fuel economy was was pretty much nil.
