'85 std cab longbox, 5.0, M5ODR2, NP205 (heavy), fiberglass topper and full tank of gas. 10 year old stock replacement springs for a 91-94 4dr Explorer from Carquest. Around 9-3/4" to 9-7/8".

That looks like it might be closer to 10.5" to me... (you need to measure from each end of the spring).

I have nothing on why people said the F-150 springs felt stiffer, only thing I can come up with is psychological (people thinking "oh it's for a heavier truck so it MUST be stiffer"). A spring having a lower spring rate will be softer than one having a higher rate. Simple physics.

Or, maybe more of Moog's specs are wrong... I don't know.

Years ago I had saved this pic off the internet, I recall it was taken from Fourwheeler or maybe Peterson's 4Wheel magazine. Maybe it can be useful here

Doh.

I have it drove into the garage getting ready to swap the rear springs so I was doing all this while almost doing a headstand. I didn’t thing about that bottom coil, I probably couldn’t even see it from where I was.

I will have to try again...

I'm still looking for the installed coil spring measurements of James Duff, Rough Country, and Superlift lift kits.

After installing Skyjacker 1.5-2" lift springs the measurement is now 12" versus the 10 3/4" with the original springs. 1992 Ex Cab, 5.0, 4x4,full size truck 5 speed, NP205 TC, 3" body lift.

Here's the difference between the Skyjacker 132 and 132X springs.

I'll put any aftermarket spring measurement on the list that I get.
