I'm not sure if this is correct section, where this will be seen.

I thought I'd reach out here first, but I'm sure this could end being a custom project considering its a 10 year + platform.

I'd like to get rid of my cap and go with something like (as in not as fancy) in the attached image to carry a canoe or tent, and with a removeable tarp or compatible roll up tonneau cover as required if there is something I don't want getting wet.

I anybody has pictures of their with something like this, please post them. It may give me other ideas. Even better if there is a retailer that still is friendly with our Rangers. Becuase the majority of searches are the new Rangers.

I have a roof top tent on my f150 mounted to a universal Thule Xsporter rack. It can be adjusted for pretty much any truck. You may need to cut the width down a little for a Ranger, but it would work.... It’s definitely not cheap.

Here’s a pic from last years trail ride. I’ll have to find a close up if you need one.

I think most racks are the over the cab style that I’ve seen. Thule or Yakima might be you best bet to check. Like mentioned above, they will not be cheap.

My Thule rack was right around $700.

Do you have a picture of what you have for your Ranger?
I don’t have a rack on my Ranger... it’s on my F150. It’s fully adjustable and would technically fit my Ranger but be wide as hell. I think they make a narrow one for mid size trucks or you could just cut down the crossbars.

(My lowed Ranger is hidden behind the F150... a rack would look ridiculous on it.)

I thought you were talking about on your old Ranger. I saw the first picture. If I had F150 there would less trouble finding something.

Another almost what I'm thinking image. The back including that packed tent should be level with cab so canoe can go on level (or slight nose down).

Tarp system can be added/remove for bed area.

Check out 12 Degrees North, they have a lot of Racks and Roof Top Tent Systems.
Might be something you like.
They are a little on the high side but great equipment.

It'll be worth money if its exactly what I want. Like I said, most like it will need some modding/fabrication, but as long as the intial framework is correct.

I found this one searching the net... I think it was on expedition portal.

I would think you could ask around and just find someone to build you the basic frame exactly how you want it and what you want on it. Take it unpainted... drill your own holes etc... save a bit of money.

That's probably going to be the best route. We're on another lockdown, so I'll have to go around in person after its done. I want to start with this frame concept and modify from there. (ie removeable bars for tent deployment).

This one is for the new EDGE-Ranger, but it is an idea, maybe they have a set up to fit the older Rangers.
To me it needs to be a little higher, anything you put on it will hit the roof.
Problem $$$$ !
The have another type too, but nothing high enough for my taste.
I carry longer lumber on my truck and need it over the roofline.
