I don’t know about any other product but what happens with the WD40 is a chemical reaction between the fish oil and the sun that leaches the oil out of the tire. If I had seen them doing it I would’ve stopped them.
WD-40 is mostly kerosene or kerosene like solvent. Fish oil may be in there but I have never heard of it.

The fish oil thing is an old wives tale created by fisherman because for some unknown reason when they cleaned their lures with wd-40, they caught more fish. There is no fish oil in WD-40.

I've heard silicone works better as a tire shiner and that armor all speeds up the dry rot process.
I am pretty sure Amor All is just diluted silicone oil and maybe a little glycerin.

I'll have to take a closer look at the various ingredients that would be found in Armour All.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
So "often" is the key word here..right?
Yes.

It also depends on your perspective. From some angles, they don't look round at all.

Fun thought. Has anyone been victimized by Thai Shriners?

the grey-t escape
true story- many years ago my grandmother had a flat tire on the way to church. I stopped, got a jack out , raised the car & gave the tire 1/2 a turn. told my puzzled grandma : “ there- the flat spot is on the top now”.

When I bought my Jeep, they shined the tires with WD40. Just had the sidewall on one of my tires blow out at 80mph... don’t shine your tires with wd40...
Oil and rubber don't mix. I put tire shine on for a show but otherwise I just use Armor All. If you don't like Armor All, back in the day before it was invented (I'm old) we sprayed the tires with Pledge furniture polish. It's a bit of a softer shine and I don't see that furniture wax would hurt the tires. Always scrub first with Bleach White.

I'm sorry I just find it impossible to believe someone wiping Wd-40 on a tire caused a catastrophic tire failure. No it's not good for your tires, but your tires are exposed to way worse as part of their daily life.

Plus if the “protesters” got wind of it, there’d be a wd-40 shortage and tires being sprayed instead of fires, looting & broken windows. lol
