This is a long shot for my general area. Anyone from here that lives near my area, know of a body shop or custom guy who cuts/owns a louver punch? I want to add louvers into a spare hood I have for my 1st gen truck and do a second hood with pins and louvers for a different look on the truck.

cheers

thanks guys, will keep searching.

Bird, I have seen the punch sets, would rather just pay to get it done than buy something and waste time learning how to. I could take a week and build a "set" then learn how.... :( ... easier to just get it done where they know how...

cheers

I just prefer the pride that comes from doing things myself, learning new skills, and saving money. Good luck with your search.

bird, i hear ya there... normally i would build something to bang out myself... except this just doesn't sound fun at all. and if it splits the hood instead of bends it i will be really upset. rather just let someone who knows how to do it.

however, too bad you live so far away ... you could come over and learn this skill at my place :) cheers

While I agree, there's a limit to that, like when doing it yourself will cost you 2 - 5 grand in dies, punches, and a punch press... :ROFLMAO:

I could do it for the cost of the dies alone. Did you really miss this post (link) from earlier?

The rest I could easily fabricate from recycled materials that I already have on hand. Hell, I could probably power it with my tractor hydraulics, but a bottle jack would be the most simple.
