Sup guys, I was inspecting my 4x4 system the other day and I notice something that cought my attention. Should the cv axles be engaged even if its in 2wd mode? I dont think they should be, so I disengaed them manually, but every time I engage the 4x4 switch to 4hi/lo they engage but they dont release after I switch back to 2wd...The tranny does its job of gearing and neutralizing, the concern is in the hubs vacuum crap. What do you guys think? Let me know what you know. Thanx.:icon_thumby:

The CV Shafts should be free after you disengage 4WD but you may have to move forward then backwards or something like that to get them to disengage, i got sick of it and just put on manual hubs

yeah thats what i thought, my shafts never disengage. I dont use it that often, but i used it like a week ago and I noticed this yesterday. So Ive been driving with the shafts engaged this hole time. I drive 70 miles to work every day. Imagine that. Im guessing its really bad for the front axle and 4wd sytem aint it?:icon_confused:
