Working on swapping my 4.0 93 Ranger with a 5.3L L59 vortec motor with the 4L60-E transmission. Anyone got any tips? Most likely gonna do a body lift help with some clearance.

If 4wd a body lift makes everything easier.

If 2wd and wanting more of a street truck a BL shouldn't be required.

No experiance at all with that swap but I love my bodylift even before my 5.0 (Ford) swap.

Width is only 23", the Ford 5.0l(302) is 19", so a bit of heater box modification, and creative exhaust headers

It's 1.5" longer that the 302, so maybe a pusher fan on front of radiator?
5.3l is 29", 302 is 27.5"

The height is the killer, oil pan to top cover...............34", 302 is 21",
Lift won't get you that much, lol

5.3L dimensions here: http://bdturnkeyengines.com/engine-dimensions/

5.0l(302) Explorer engine, W-19", L-27.5", H-21", just as a place mark of what barely fits

Measurements are kind of a dicy thing to take to heart.

Things like the oil pan may be a non issue depending on how things shake out. Length can very too, especially on a SBF depending on what front dress it has.

Building into a 2wd prerunner. Gonna basically chop the entire front end, thinking I have to keep frame rails though because of the I beam suspension. Going to rebuild a tubular structure and some minor plating where necessary for mounting things like computer, washer fluid etc... figures my end up having to cut into the firewall but wasn’t sure. Most likely will have to cut into floor to fit tranny. Going to get a full 1 piece fiberglass. This one https://www.mcneilracinginc.com/products/93-ford-ranger-to-2017-raptor-off-road-fiberglass-one-piece-conversion-80-version?variant=39666972490
