I prefer computerized fuel injection. It works much better than a carburetor at high elevations.

And in the cold. My last carbeureted vehicle, -10*C it was best to plug it in. Below -20, if it wasn't plugged in, you were lucky to get it started. Below -30, if you didn't plug it in, there was no way it would start.

Fuel injected vehicles, even at -40, they were stiff to turn over, but they'd start. Usually first try.

If my ranger was carburated i wouldnt of had to spend the last 12 mo getting it going.

Fuel injection isn't that complicated.
It is for me.
To much time has to be spent diagnosing. Then you got a 50/50 chance of it being the actual sensor or the wire.

Or something entirely different. Carbs are easy, snd very "eh good enough" when it comes to issues.

Never had a problem with my carbureted engines in the winter. They were neither easier or harder to start that my fuel injected ones. Maybe I have been lucky.

Click your username. Then when the box pops up, click your username again. Then on the next page to the right you'll see "find" with a down arrow next to it. Click that and you'll see "all content" and threads"

I never did either till this last winter when my 77 sat at the shop 8 hours facing a north wind with -38* temps. Only time ive ever had a carb fail me.

Although my EFI 460 wasnt to thrilled about starting that day either.

I live in the rust belt but yeah, I never lived in the New England States or anything that gets as cold as Canada or the Dakotas.
