Asking for preferences regarding urethane vs standard neoprene sway bar bushings. I believe I have over tightened mine that are only 2 years old, plus the rubber is cracked where it shouldn't be. OEM FoMoCo parts may be the way to ge here. What's your opinion? Thx, Doug

mine are urethane at the bracket and at the links. i like how they last much better in urethane and its not going to feel stiff or make noise or vibrations feel heavier.

when you do motor or transmission mounts in urethane you have to watch what stiffness you get because those can make nvh worse and i have made that mistake once, using stiff urethane motor mounts. one test drive and i went home and swapped them out for stock rubber on a bmw i used as a daily and weekend racer. i will never use stiff urethane motor or transmission mounts again. anything else, yes, urethane all day long but not those two spots.

I did aftermarket urethane when my factory stuff failed. Had to have been 5 years ago now... still functioning fine.

I think the key is to not over tighten them. Put the weight of the vehicle on the suspension... tighten equally just until the sway bar and control arm are captured firmly.

A tiny dab of anti-seize on the bolts were the sleeve rides will allow you to remove them easily for off road articulation purposes.

Hey guys thanks. Yup I was not expecting anything like the rocks on Imogene Pass. Next time it won't take long to disconnect the front sway bar when I air down. I'll look into getting some urethane bushings.

They have a kit with the sway bar bushings too.
