Does anybody have experience with a rough country 5 inch lift? Is it a pretty stiff ride after it's installed? My ranger rides pretty stiff right now and I want to upgrade it but also lift it a little. What is the best option for that (that doesn't break the bank)

Im not sure, I have no personal experience here but have heard that Rough Country rides kind of stiff. But I know alot of people seem to like them. I was thinking of getting the 3-4 inch from Superlift.

Is your truck 2WD or 4WD?

I like the ride quality improvement from Skyjacker Softride coil springs; before using them both trucks were very ridgid on stock coils. The addition of the Softride coils was a super improvement to both vehicle's ride quality, even with polyurethane bushings and augmented Explorer rear packs.

I am using their 2" coils with my Ranger and a Ford Hiryder lift, while the Bronco has their 4" coils with 4" Procomp drop brackets.

I have zero experience with Rough Country products bar a steering stabilizer.

My truck doesn't have coils. I just have torsion bars. I cranked them a couple turns to level them out, but it's just a super stiff ride. I've been thinking about just getting the torch 3" kit and putting all new shocks on too.

With you already having the torsion bars cranked your options for more lift and also a better ride and limited. A coil over conversation is going to give the best ride because it removes the torsion bars but you will be riding around the same height as you have or slightly higher but the higher you set the coils the less quality of ride you will get.

You could try a Rough County lift and new shocks and it would get a little better but just depends on the type of shock you buy. Or you could do a coil over along with the lift but I think you would be the first do that so it would be untested waters.

You could do a body lift to get the height you want and new shocks and it might help with the ride but just like the lift it depends on the shocks you buy. Or you could go full force and do a long travel but that’s not on a budget hahah
