My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
If you have 3.08's- and I expect you do because that was the standard gear behind a 2.0- sticking and overdrive in front of that rear end is going to create a whole new breed of dog.
I bet itd get 100mpg though.

Does anyone know if if it’s possible to wire an 88 tbird eec unit to make it run a basic ishi Warner ihi intercooled stock turbo setup on the 93 mustang Lima w 8 spark plugs? I’m thinking of the most “modern” ones like 8ua and LB3. My gut tells me probably not because of the ignition and sensors but if there’s a way to make it all talk to each other I wouldn’t have to mess with the transmission (it’s already rebuilt and bolted) and all I’d have to do is wiring, out the exhaust manifold on there, replace pistons, injectors, drill an oil return line in the block and... figure out an electronic fuel pump that fits the tank/electric fan.
Very... simple...

I think you missed swapping rods, and then re-balance the whole mess in your easy, simple, cheap and quick conversion.

Reprogramming the drivetrain is a lot more work for a turbo. The big one is you no longer get to use low intake pressure to get the auto to downshift, as you might now still have boost. And you want to shift from power to torque peaks, so not only are you tuning the engine but tuning the transmission too. Which is why using the t-bird module is the wimps way out - Ford has done 90% of the thinking for you.
