maybe consider running a lincoln intech fan setup with a 31x19 summit radiator.

the lincoln setup cools perfect on the d max and gm diesel in my pig.

definatly need a d60 in the front of that thing though with two turbos.

if i had found a good cummins for my e350 in the price range i wanted i would put the psd from that into my ranger instead of the 6.5....but not with twins!!!

hats off to that shit!!

Your definitely right about the d60 but I'm worried about the width its gonna be a DD I bought a late 70s firebird 4 core aluminum unit from champion on eBay with 2 fans it 32x18 guaranteed to cool 900 horse in theory my measurements say I will fit inside the core support. But u can't beat The cummins for a swap in a full size there awesome.

my psd is over 800k....its done and i dont trust it like i used too. definatly cummins time for my e350....though i would like to finish the psd off in my ranger. maybe put some rings and bearings in for ahwile...but then injectors and hpop etc come in.....so i just left it in the 350

honestly though... compared to my 6.5.. the psd is harsh for a daily driver....of course compared to the 7.3 the 6.5 is a nutless wimp. the 6.5 was cake to swap and the truck it was in was a chevy and shit compared to the e350 so it was an easy decision.

my rig is a daily driver....full width 60's for years now and the 6.5 for a year and a half or so... so i think your fine there. d60 when you see one for sure.

i find the 6.5 an excellent choice for daily driving ...i have no sound deadening or fenderwells and its just fine on the freeway. the average shlub would not even know it had a diesel in it....and remember...i do runs to florida ect with it no problems.....just slow due to final drive--tire size setup.

a stock first gen psd would be radical by comparison let alone a tt...and i know i would love that power for sure, just out of my range for now cost wise. considering i have less then 400 bux into the 6.5 swap i can deal with that turd for quite some time to come...

but your junk is definatly the shit in my eyes:icon_thumby:

I do appreciate the posts but u can really get some decent power out of that 6.5 u can get an Intercooler off eBay type in huge front mount intercooler" for a hundred bucks then go to SS diesel supply and oh boy it just gets. Crazy from there. I'm a huge diesel freak and these motors with only slight mods will never labor a day in their lives in this chassis.

You can narrow a D60 to fit under the front of your truck.

I would love to be able to put a diesel in my truck.

I'm craving more on this truck now!!!!!!

Looks great man! If it was a manual it'd be my dream truck. I'm still jealous either way haha.

How about more details on the bed? Splash bedsides on a normal box with the fronts redone?

dude its just that simple I cut the step off the oem step side and layered fiberglass over the hole cut off the steel bedside but left the top rail for strength and from the body line down on the front cuz there wouldn't be anything there otherwise then added the clearance light to complete the deception. oops I gave it all away I mean this is a rare factory dually lol...

Front Bumper

Hey Bill.... It's me Chris :bye:

Here are the before and after pics of the front bumper...

Oh wait...there are no before pics of the front bumper, Billy built it from scratch.
I'll just post the cardboard template that he made as a substitute for the before:

i think ford should have offered a 6 cyl powerstroke in the ranger, with at least a 3/4 ton capability. i mean come on, you cant get an f250 or 350 diesel ext/cc without the 8 ft long bed. that makes em one long sumbitch and the turning radiuses are horrible!!

How have I missed this thread!!? Dude, this thing is a mean battletank!

What are you going to use it for? Work, play, or just to see if it could be done?

Either way, I never thought I'd see a 7.3 in a ranger....................
