I think your thinking of the Flowmaster 40 series, but alot of people like the sound of them.

I have a Dynomax Superturbo Muffler on my 3.0L and I love the sound. not to loud, and not ricy or raspy sounding.

Just cut the muffler off and add a piece of pipe. If you dont weld it and are going to use clamps it needs to slip over the outside of the front pipe and into the rear pipe. Prolly 10-15 bucks for the pipe and clamps.

Ever consider not killing the environment so fast? lol
i got a sas ranger on 46s lol that went out the window a while ago. but for the count it doesnt get driven that often. thats what my grand am is for. and its after the cat so we're good :icon_thumby:

And it still sounds pretty good.
mine sounded the best when it was open right after the cat but it made it so loud in the cab and had to hear what going on with my drivetrain and what not so i put in a side exit before my rear tire. doesnt look bad and super easy

Straight pipes sound like ass. I highly recommend Areo Turbine mufflers but I'm sure they're well out of your price range.
