Well... then it's either good to go or getting real close!
And once you get it to up to EPA or California pollution requirements for it's model year, you're good to go.

Just watch out, it very well could be a diesel, and seeing that there were no rangers of those years in the states with diesels, it will never pass.

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Doesn't meet (or never tested) US safety and/or emissions standards.
This is just an excuse. The real reason is that back in the day Mercedes noticed there was a ton of people in the US who were saving money by importing their merc rather than buy new from a dealer here.. losing them money. Couple envelopes full of money into the right peoples pockets and BAM no more imports unless it's old.

If they can be modified to meet the minimum fed emissions standards it would be fine.

Loads of old skylines around here, they don't meet California emissions.

Buy it, build it, and drive it like you stole it
The truck was spotted in TN. Where I grabbed a picture. Hickman County to be exact but had Georgia tags. I will have to say it was a Hispanic guy driving it. Was a nice truck. I'm pretty sure it was a gas powered engine not a desiel. The guy didn't speak very good English bit was very proud of the truck you could tell by the big smile when I told him I loved his truck. Was hoping he was a member or a friend of a member on here. Myself was wondering how hard it would be to import one.

On my way home Sunday... I saw an S10 MAX on the freeway. I had to look it up when I hot home. Seems it's a new GM offering only going to be sold in Latin countries.

HUH... in Illinois I would have expected to see Pritzker Sucks and a Trump 2024 signs in the yard. Also a GUNSAVELIVES.com sign for good measure...
I didn't really see any signage like I have in years past.

It seems like an excessive amount of lifted pickup trucks for one man, but then you see they are all GM and it makes sense now.

the grey-t escape
big fall car show about 20 miles from me today, 3 rangers, none really worth a photo (shoulda took mine!) A lot of ‘70’s full-size fords, the usual mustangs, camaros, ‘vettes and a few unique rat rods, including a rat rod built with a cummins 6bt. Heres my favorites of the day:

I have a Radio Flyer wagon in my living room, it has a flat surface so my wife has it stacked full.
