Hi I have a 93 B3000 and it has shut off a few times while running. It took a few times of cranking each time to get it going, but it started up. I went to Wal-Mart last night and it is still parked there because it will crank but not go. I'm wondering if someone has hopes that this isn't something as bad as a timing belt or ignition system and could just be a fuel pump or spark plugs? Thanks in advance for any insight.

A few tests will get you in the right direction..

Does the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key?
Is there fuel pressure at the rail? And how much?
Is there spark to the plugs when cranking?
etc..

Thanks guys, I am pretty sure it's a fuel pump at this point. I decided to say screw it and call my friend with an ASE to have him help me run the tests that you mentioned Black.

Behind the carpet on the firewall of the passenger floor area. Right beneath the glove box.
Thanks much. I just read Craig Evers' article about the switch and want to make sure we get this thing right from the get-go.

Hah, I had it towed to my mechanic's house from where it left me and as soon as he put it on the battery charger and cranked it it started right up for him. I decided to put some Lucas fuel treatment in it and run it for a bit, funny thing is it had this really low, wobbly idle that made the belt squeak, after that Lucas fuel treatment the idle is solid and the truck runs a lot better. I'm hoping it was just a really clogged up injector or something. I WAS getting awful gas mileage (like 15MPG no BS) so we'll see how it goes.
