Hello. Thanks for looking at my post.

I recently got the truck running perfectly with no Check Engine Lights (Thanks to this forum) and got it smogged and registered. Life was a dream….

Then…. I got another Check Engine Light. So, I hope someone can help me pinpoint the current issue and/or advise me on my current analysis.

NOTES: 99 Ranger XLT 3.0 V6. 2x4.

*Codes- P0455 large leak detected evap....P0401 exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient and P0402 EGR flow excessive detected.

*How can I have both High and Low EGR Flow at the same time?

*Symptoms: The truck will sometimes not start when I turn the key. It does not even try to start just a “Dead Turn”. Sometimes it will start right up in a few min…sometimes a half hour but it does start back up eventually. The WEIRD thing is when I turn the key to start it “usually” the “PATS” blinking lights starts to flash for a while then give me a reading. Sometimes, it just goes blank when I turn the key no flashing red light or reading. Later it’s fine….goes back to the “Theft” blinking light after I take back out the key……starts in either one.

Current Analysis: I am thinking Purge Valve and O2 sensors? I think the pic is correct valve but unsure of this is with or without the solenoid? Can’t quite get it from videos I have found but part matches if correct analysis.

*Any input is appreciated. I do not want to try and Throw Parts if at all possible. This site is a dream….Thanks.

In supplement: I am looking for the two hoses that come out of the Purge Valve and then connect with that black middle connector shown in the image. I can't find them online or see any at the junkyard nearby. They seem old looking to replace just cant figure out how to find them.
