Truck creaking on back end

Hi,

I have a 2004 FX4 and have noticed progressively worse creaking sound from the rear whenever I go over bumps, or take off fast from a stop. Also, when I do the bounce test on either side to check the shocks, the creak is the most pronounced on both sides. I already replaced the front shocks recently, but have not done the back since over owned the truck, and it has 172,000 miles on it. The shocks seem to still have plenty of resistance when I do the bounce test, but I’m still leaning towards them or my sway bars possibly being bad. Any other ideas? As a beginner on cars, this forum has helped me tons. Thanks!

Either the bushings on the shackles or the front bushings for the springs are usually what creek.

Most likely culprits for squeaking that only happens under suspension movement would be all the bushing locations. Shock mounts, spring eye bushings, sway bar links, carrier bearing.

I would unbolt the bottom shock mount and see if the squeak goes away. If not, then spray down each bushing with silicone lube one at a time and check for squeaks.
