I've been wanting to hit Cades Cove/Tail of The Dragon area. Not sure when it will happen.
I did tail of the dragon a few times in my motorcycle days. I wasn’t the fastest, but it was fun.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I’m not volunteering, but a question

Is there a way to do a targeted broadcast to people in any specific area? We all read the forums pretty regularly, but I’m sure a lot of people only do it occasionally. But if we could send them a PM in a group broadcast, it might get some results.

Again, my health issues are my biggest problem and stepping up to anything. I’m running behind on personal stuff that is in the absolutely have to do list, but the trucks are my therapy.

Never done it, but I've hear a lot about Tail of the Dragon. If I can get the parts I need to finish off the suspension I'd be up for making that run in the truck sometime next year. As it is right now the caster is off too much to make than an enjoyable drive. Wouldn't be too much fun in the F-250 either, but the Forte would probably handle it well. While I have got a motorcycle, it hasn't run in a decade and isn't likely to be drivable in the next year. Even if it was, I'm so out of practice I wouldn't want to tackle that road.

Don't know anything about Cades Cove.

Something like that I'd probably want to schedule an extra day or two.

HGA stands for Hidden Gem Adventures. It was a FB group I used to moderate. It became too Toyota based so I resigned from my moderator position. I usually get down to central GA couple time a year to ride. I've been working g my way down the Georgia Adventure Trail. I've made it a little southeast of Atlanta on it so far. Looking to do more of it next year. Be awesome to have you come along.
First I've heard about GAT that I can remember, trying to find a way to look at a detailed map on my computer. From the thumbnail you'll definitely be passing close around the Macon & Warner Robins area. From route pictures I'm seeing online, I don't know if I'd have anything properly equipped to tag along, but could probably meetup somewhere along the way. F-250 is 4x4 but not really setup for offroading. The F-100 could definitely handle the terrain, but not something I'm prepared to take long distances right now (next big project). Dirt roads and mudpuddles wouldn't be too much trouble for the Ranger, but much rougher and it'll be out of it's element.

Is there a way to do a targeted broadcast to people in any specific area? We all read the forums pretty regularly, but I’m sure a lot of people only do it occasionally. But if we could send them a PM in a group broadcast, it might get some results.
I'm on an F-250 forum that does a North GA G2G two or three times a year. Their solution to this is creating a tag list (IE: @Rick W, @...) for with all of the people that they want to notify and copy/paste it into the announcement post. Do it too much and people will probably start getting tired off it, but a few times a year would probably be ok.

It's not like I'm just avoiding you guys, I've been getting tagged for those for about three years now and haven't made it to one yet. Keep saying I'm going to go, then something happens that the timing doesn't work out. I think the last one (spring) was the well pump failing, before that was dad's cancer treatments. I'm already counting out a fall one if it happens due to finances and proximity to hunting season. I didn't get to hunt last year and if I can't go this year I'll probably be working OT to help with the finances.

Yes. We have regional forum sections. That’s where I often announce my stuff.

Im.north of Nashville now. In White House. I grew up in Cheatham County. Kinston Springs to be exact. That's why I'm familiar with all the roads down that way. I used to ride the area that is now West Tuckasee OHV park over by the river. Now it's all private land.
They let you in the White House???

Saturday morning we got to work making biscuits and gravy for everyone. @Poppa_R picked up an oven and @ericbphoto brought out his family oven as well (the cool painted vintage oven the blue Sears stove)

@snoranger had a problem with a clingon...

Then @CamTheHedgehog, @Uncle Gump and Noah fell into formation and we struck off to get more things on our treasure hunt list.

Noah stayed behind at Casey Jones to do the tour.

@Mrs. Eighty Five got to use her tailgate table to fix us sandwiches on the road.

Then off to Hotel California. We did not check in thus we didn't have any issues checking out.

Then down to Cleo Griffen's old house.

Then it was judgment time!

Checking out was never an issue. Leaving was the problem. Don't think that would apply with the state of that place though.

Well, someone did mention some strange things happening at LBL so maybe I shouldn't say that. Who know what kinds of haunts and haints are around. If they weren't before the event, Rick probably brought that baby doll's cousins and threw them out.

do you think that’s a big surprise? Just look around you how all the stuff is running
What else would you expect. Some one from this forum walk in the door they'd probably get their 1/6 PTSD triggered. Of course they'd start running.

"You can check out but any time you like but you can never leave"

So you simply don't check-in in the first place. :icon_thumby:

You ain't seen nothin'. I removed the Vampire Hotel from the list this year because getting there was kind of sketchy as far as safety goes.
