Mock it up with cardboard and accurate dimensions. Then take the cardboard model to a fab shop.
I can work on that. I'll need to take a gander at the frame tomorrow to get some ideas. I think I remember seeing some holes in the cross member just ahead of the transfer case I could tie into as well.

Snoranger did, if I remember correctly. 12ish hours. Jim didn't include himself in the distance contest though. Ericbphoto and I were each in the 9-10 hour range.

Yeah, what he said. I drove just shy of 800 miles each way.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Older trucks had t case skid plates, Ford may have left the holes.

I whacked that big refrigerator sized rock good twice on the first trail. I know the front diff caught it. Something around the neighborhood of the trans crossmember/t case skid plate also got it but I can't see any sight if anything.

The afore mentioned tank you drive...

It was like a big dorm fridge, way bigger than we grow rocks in Iowa as a general rile.

There are holes for the factory skid plate still there. I want to tie the plate with those and with the cross member in front of the transfer case. I was in a bit of a time crunch, so forgot to look for the holes I think are there on the cross member. I think it would be more solidly mounted tying those possibly imaginary holes with the existing holes forward and aft.

if that is the one going into the quarry, I just barely missed it. a couple of times I was able to go over it with the wheel instead of whacking it with the TTB...

I think you missed this trail. First trail we went on of the trail ride. It was on a pond.

Observation for next year...

If you need a flag and have folding rear doors, the simple/cheap ones designed to go onto the top of your window will also work at the top of those doors. That way you can have your windows down and still avoid the hardware required for the bigger flags.
