My credo
I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
For last years trail ride, I had TRS flags made as a keepsake for everyone who came...

I came up with a different idea for this year. (No, I’m not telling what it is.) Jim and I settled on a design and I sent it to my promo guy, I just need to tell him an amount to make. I’d like to get him the number by mid-late July, so there’s time to print them, check them, and correct any unforeseen issues that may occur. I’ll have extras made because I know people won’t make up their minds until the last minute, but I’d like to have a ballpark number.

When you know for sure you’re going, post it in this thread and tag me. I’ll edit my post on the first page (post #3) and start a list.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I put a leave request in for it. As long as the unit doesn’t decide they have other plans, I should be good to go. The only constant around here is change. So, that’s best I can do.

It will probably be beginning of August before I’ll know if I can make it. We have a big machine install near Chicago around then I need to be at. Should have a good idea of when that is by then.

It appears life is going to be a carnival ride for me for the next year or so. The wife and daughter are hell bent on buying a small fixer upper house here in Illinois to live in and renovate... pending the sale of our house. Then flip it in four years. Then start looking for a forever place back in Michigan.

My oldest daughter and the wife have apparently watched far to many home flipper shows and think all this stuff is easy. She was hell bent to buy this house on Thursday and I said she couldn't until i seen it. So we went and seen it (she had looked at it two days before) and I couldn't believe what I saw. The two of them had drawn up floor plans to move walls and create a second full bath etc... I was there for 10 minutes and figured there was no saving it and should be torn down and start over. Lots of mold... floor was out of level probably 10 inches on one end... garage was ready to fall over... the list goes on and on and on. It didn't even have a functioning bathroom... WTF is she thinking!?!?!?!?

But as long as we aren't living in a homeless shelter... I plan to be there.

I may not make it if I decide to take this new job. I'll be working 6 and 7 day weeks, but the pay is almost double what I'm making now. It's a hard decision to make for many reasons.

I do really want to show up though.

I was so damn close man...

Trust me... a small apartment for us to stay in while we find the right place and I would feel so much better.

I honestly can't believe this is happening...
